Help! My car is not running right, would start than die immediately!
So on the drive home from work I noticed my car was not really running right, the idle would go to 1500 but I could make it go back to 800 if I pull the pedal. My car would do that once in a while but not as much as it is today. Its almost like something is making it do it but there is nothing pulling the cable. So I went to Sears to exchange something and when I came out I started my car and it died right away. I popped the hood to look for anything unusual. Nothing was unplugged or anything. So I tried to start the car a couple more times and it did nothing than finally it started up. I think my problem is fuel or vacuum related. Would a vacuum leak cause a car not to be able to run? Cuz vacuum leaks usually mess up your idle. This problem is almost like a bad main relay except I replaced that a year ago with the new version one and it has been fine. My fuel filter isn't very old either. I think I can hear the fuel pump coming on when I put it to the II postion but maybe not every time, not really sure. What is the symptom of a dying fuel pump? I finally got the car to start and drove it home and tried starting it again and it just died than the 2nd time it started and ran. This is very weird!
I just checked for codes and there are none.
I'm thinking tomorrow at work I can get my multimeter and put it on the wires that go to the fuel pump that way I know if it is a relay issue or fuel pump issue.

I always have a spare relay in my tool box
what is this about you having to pull the pedal? try unhooking your t-cable and see if your TB is sticking? but that wouldn't really cause the car to die out...

I think the throttle cable is just old and sticks sometimes. I lubed it while ago and it was ok for a long time.
bad electrical connection somewhere,do you got good ground connections?is your timing correct?..the reasons for that happening are many..get a book on your car that has a troublshooting guide..
