Default D16 tuning.

I realize that a d16y7 is not going to do a whole lot. I plan to run my car at the track in a couple weeks for my first time in 4 years. NEVER RAN. So this will be my first time. I really want to break into the 15s, that is my goal. I currently am running DC headers, Short ram intake, installing Y8 manifold this week, AEM pullys, HKS full catback, NGK plugs and wires. You can look in my sig. What else could i do becides FI, i dont want to spend too much. I was wondering if tuning with a VAFC would help me out some, or maybe a y8 head, is it really worth doing a mini me head? O and its in a 98 hatchback. Thanks

uh..? you dont have VTEC, so a VAFC will be kinda useless. get that y8 head on first, then the VAFC. you're going to need more than what you have to get into 15's, and good driving.

Y8 transmission and drag radials should net you easy mid 15's

Well i know i dont have vtec but you can still use the vafc to tune your car. Like adjusting fuel. And i would get the vafc instead of the safc just incase i later do a vtec head. Is the transmittion really going to help my car more then a y8 head?

the y8 tranny will give you shorter gears. the y8 head will give you a little more power and torque (VTEC too, if that matters to you).

Would a VAFC do anything for a Y8 with an I/H/E?

opt for the y8 head first. That is the only way I can see 15's out of your car. Yeah, y8 head, mt 20" slicks and some good driving, you should see 15's. heat em up,stage,5k,preload and once you see the last yellow light up, pop it and mash that gas. 15.5 is in your future!

the VAFC wont provide you much hp with the basic I/H/E setup.

i ran 16.99 on my hatch with only i/e. now i have y8 head, skunk 2 IM, gsr tb, hondata im gasket, crower stage 1 cam, aem sprocket, j's style intake. 15's should be easy

you are ignorant

yeah, like the others said, get a y8 or z6 head on there. your AEM cam gear isnt really going to do anything by its self. get some cams for it.

If all you want to do is get into the 15s, a little n20 would probably be the easiest, cheapest way.

by the way you type, you are pretty ignorant. learn how to form a sentance that makes sense. your lack of knowledge just adds to it. wow, anyone can slap on a bottle of nos. you are so cool...it just sucks that you have to replenish basically the only thing that gives you power. not to mention that you are abusing the **** out of your engine.
