Default just wondering?

how would one go about adjusting the timing on a 96 prelude. The reason I ask is that pesky service jumper, and the fact that I cant see the crank for @#$^. I was also wondering what the spec range of degree btdc would be on my car. What would some of you recommend as far as that is concerned. the other question I have is this: As there is no dyno in this town, I was wanting to know what a good all around setting for cam gears would be to get good power without detonation.
thanks in advance for any help

take your valve cover off, and change your cam gears. I wouldn't try doing it my self, cause you may risk of messing something up. I would take it in and have someone do it, and also have it dynoed to where you need it.

change the timing? Just rotate the dist. cap. Have a timing gun hooked up. 15 is the stock timing I think. Someone correct me if I'm off.

The problem is not the cam gears themself as I already have adj. cam gears. the problem is an all around good setting for those cam gears. My brother and I installed them last time he visited. There is no dyno in this town to test and tune on so my dilema is this: What is a good setting for the cam gears that will get good power and not let my valves meet the pistons? As far as the timing goes I was wondering where the service jumper is and how to use it to bypass other elements. thanks again for any help.

Don't you have to calibrate your ECU also?

Dyno. Find one. It is your friend. Test and tune night is your enemy. Travel if you have to.

If your going to adjust the cam gears in your ride I would suggest +2 -2 for safe you will probally keep some of your low end torque. I have mine set higher to get some more top end but I sacrificed some of my low end.
I know of two dynos in TX there is one in arlington I20 and cooper AlamoAutosports. Then there is another In Garland at Jotech.
