How many 235/45-13 Kumho V710's would you buy...
If they were made in time for next season? Obviously Kumho has their hands full and they weren't planning on making any more sizes for this season even before the manufacturing defects came to light, but I think it'd be good to let them know there would be demand for this 13" size.
I would probably go through at least 3 sets next season if they made them, and I know a lot of the SM guys would love to use them too if they could. I thought I'd take the pulse here and then use the data to have something somewhat concrete to refer to when making a claim to possible demand for the tire.

Well, not necessarily. The Hoosiers seem quite a bit more popular at a national level and if the V710 is as good as those who have used it say it is vs. Hoosiers in similar sizes, I bet some Hoosier drivers would make the jump as well.
I think Kumho has a better idea of how many tires they would sell in a 13" size then you could put together from an internet poll.
Just image if you had a international tire company and you got an email from some guy on the internet who said he knows of x number of other internet guys would would purchase x number of tires. Would you care?
Or would you look through your records of how many V710 tires you have sold in a particular size compared to how many V700 tires you have sold. Then take that ratio and come up with a reasonable estimate of how many tires you would sell in a size that you don't offer yet.

Alright, so how many would you buy? If nothing else, it would give ME an idea, because last time I checked I'm not one of Kumho's marketing statisticians.
Using the ratio you mention still only takes into account the sales of their own brand. What about all the people who jumped to the V710 from Hoosiers in similar size at the beginning of this season, who had never considered using the V700 because it's perceived to be considerably slower?

The ratio I used was to come up with an ESTIMATE. If the success of the new V710 compound has increased sales of 205/15 tires by 10% then it would be a safe ESTIMATE that 235/13 tires would see similar gains.
You can't come up with an exact number w/o asking every potential tire customer and even if you did there would be people changing their mind all the time.
To answer your question, if they released 235/13 V710s for next year guess how many I would buy? The same number of V700s I bought last year, 2.5 sets.

I don't know how many I would buy, because I have no idea how long they would last.
V700s would last an entire season with me, and then some.
So I guess I would definitely buy at least 4 . . .

Yep, I'd make the switch from V700's to V710's if they had better grip but didn't cycle out as quickly as Hoosiers...
