Hey guys, my VSS broke/stopped working so I went to the wreckers and got another VSS from another D-series civic motor. I installed it and it works great.
Does the VSS have to be the same as the one I had on my d16z6 motor??? or can it be from any model in the year range of 92-95?

The speedometer gear (which is part of the VSS) fits a variety of civics from 92-00 and 93-97 del sol with D-series engines. Honda part number 23820-P00-000. So, it shouldnt matter.
as far as i know the only ones that wont work are the automatics, just because the little machine part of it is to long to fit in the hole. i tried a bunch when mine went out..... still broken to this day.
all *electronic* VSS's function the same, and for the most part have the same internals. I know all manual EG/EK civic ones work, and have the same clip style same goes for the DC/ (and some) DA integras Prelude VSS's i havent messed with, but i know the clip is the same

do you mean from obd-1 to obd-2? well i did notice when we swapped my friends B16A2 that the way the VSS bolts up to the tranny is slightly different then my obd-1 B18C1.
