how long did your stock shocks last? i hear that stock shocks and comptech springs works fine together..any info will be great...btw i search...

hmm i wanna know this too.. and how long would gc's work with stock shocks..

i wanna lower it but dont have the money yet for the struts.. how long would my stockies work until i can upgrade?

 

I was lowered 2.5 inches on stock shocks once. Took about 3-5 months of safe driving( not hitting pot holes, going 2mph on bumps, slowing down on train tracks.) They blew after that and the ride got really harsh. Ha drove on them for another 3 months. not the smartest thing to do but I was broke. Now running on aftermarket shocks and the ride is much better.

 

I rode on stock shocks with Neuspeed Race (2+ inch drop) for 2 and a half years. Most of that time I lived in the Washington, DC area, and roads suck there. I hit many a pothole, but my shocks never leaked for about 35,000 miles. They are now on a friend's civic hatch with Neuspeed Race.

I know, i was impressed with the shitty stock shocks. They didn't blow, they probably got a little tired, but they treated me well.

 

From experience...Comptech springs are pretty stiff for a 1.25" drop. I had AGX's and the softest setting felt like stock ride quality.

 

my stock shocks are about to go....then again my *** is broke to get aftermarket ones right now

how many miles was on your stock shocks?

 

i got about 50k on them, didn't drop my car till about 20K and i had them for another 30K while the car is on my H&R sports
