Default Newbie question

I'm am relatively new to Honda's, for I am a big fan of Toyota's. I recently purchased a 1993 Civic ex coupe for 500 bucks.

So far i plan on doing a b16 swap or b18c1. Also, what kind of springs and shocks do anyone of you guys recommend? I don't really want to fix this car much, just an car to drive for now once i get my car running. Any feed-back would be nice, and sorry for not searching .

Tony

as for suspension, h&r springs w/ agx's will be good enough.

h&r springs w/ agx's or illuminas. I am not a fan of GC. You will get a much better ride on the h&r's. As far as the engine, you have a lot of research to do. Either a b16 or a b18c1 would be a good choice, it just depends on what you want to do. Happy searching.

H&R Sport Springs / Tokico Blue Shocks

Perfect 1.5" drop in all four corners, no camber problems.

There are a number of different companies you can go through to get your desires setup. A friend of mine went through http://www.jaydm.com for his 2000 JDM Type R engine and they seemed like they knew what they were doing. If not, talk to your local performance shop to see what they recommend.

Also, if you are looking for stock performance out of your engine, I would either go B16A2 (SI) or GSR engine. Both have a decent amount of power on the stock end. (I have an SI engine, and the thing has ***** for a stock motor...now its turboed though )

For suspension, it depends on how much you are willing to spend and the setup you want. If you want a reliable, daily driving type suspension, then something simple will work (Skunk 2 with new shocks). If you are looking to go more serious, then definitely go with full coilover system. I have the Tein SS coilovers and they kick ***, especially with 16 levels of dampening force.

It basically comes down to what you wanna do. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I just ordered a B18C through hmotorsonline, the complete change over(engine, tranny, ecu, axels, shift linkage) for 3350 shipped. It looks really good but I haven't done my swap yet, and a friend of mine ordered his B16 through them as well, you could actually still see the cross hatch on his. But yeah they have a 100% start up warranty and they garantee all sensors in working condition and not broken You might want to check them out.
