decent combo... ?
alright so i posted a while ago debating between the obx and weapon-r springs and i think im gonna have to go with the weapon-r but i will probably get the kyb gr-2's. any thoughts or anyone have the gr-2's right now?
eeeka. avoid that whole situation. suspension is too important to halfass. if you're super cheap just get springs first. wait til they blow your shocks (and hopefully you've saved up some money) and get some worthwhile shocks (illuminas, agx's, konis).
You can find h&r sport springs brand new on ebay for like 155 shipped. The tokico illumina handling package (springs and shocks) is cheap as well. Check the sponsors forum. I have never used... but would still advise against both of your spring choices.

Try a few of these ideas...
#1 : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW
#2 : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW + http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem
#3 : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem + Whichever coilover kit you can afford with 8" front springs
Im riding on option #2 and it is better than I expected.

I got the KYB's 4 way adjustable shocks with some Tein S-tech springs. Can't say enough about the performance. Friendly on the streets and kicks *** on the track. And not a very expensive set up.

yeesh stay away from both...and gr-2s are mostly made for stock replacements...wouldnt recommend them on a lowered car...

Are the OBX/Weapon-R's springs or sleeve coilovers?
I have the GR-2's on my DA, and yes, they are basically stock replacements. I have them mated with H&R Sport springs, which has not been that bad. If you do, however, choose to go with race-type springs or sleeve coilovers, I would definitely steer away from them. But in either case, I recommend getting something better, with adjustability.

as far as shocks are concerned... i've heard that illuminas are not a bad choice and i was told that kyb arent bad either but if the gr-2's are barely better than stock im not gonna pick em up because i wanna dump the car atleast 1.5 inches if not more. im for sure not gettin that obx shyt anymore but the weapon-r package is the Circuit Pro Coilover kit with Adjustable Collar. I keep hearin that its not so much your springs, but what kinda shocks you have to mate with them. So if this is the case is it really a bad choice to go with the weapon-r's and then just get a nice set of shocks? or should i say **** it all together and save up for some Tein SS Coilovers.

Now youre talkin some sense!

Get OBX and Weapon-R out of your head completely. Personally I'm running the Omnipower Coilovers on my GS-R and for the past months I've been very satisfied. Installation was pretty smooth. They're ride height but not dampening adjustable. It's just a street car so dampening adjustability was something I just didn't need and the performance increase along with my 22mm rear sway bar was pretty substantial. It's not the best but it's very good and pretty cheap so it's got my
