a few shop sell them c-speedracing.com and a few others but here is the site for the fake one same design should perform almost the same. the cf makes the air temperature not as hot as regular intake and with the fake one they apparently use some heat resistant plastic. http://store.dragracing.com/pr...id=99

anyone know any other store or other places to get fake ones ive heard ebay but had hardtime finding any

http://www.jdmhondaparts.com I have "heard" it won't work unless you change the intake manifold. I was going to buy one myself but decided not too. I could be wrong, if you search you will come up with quite a bit of stuff on it.

adding an extention on wither end of the intake would defeat the purpose of havine the j intake.

you'll need a skunk2 intake manifold in order to fit the j's. They never made one for the GSR

If you use material that is a restriction, IE ribbed rubber or dryer hose or something, it would be. But if you had a pipe bent and used a silicon connector from the TB to the inlet on the intake, I cant see it making any significant difference.

J's Racing Intake DOES NOT fit the stock Gs-R intake manifold.

the reaon its shaped the way it is is to speed up the air at certian rpm's. well adding an extention to either end would create turbulance which is not good for making power. im not saying your car wont run. just dont expect any power gains over a regular pipe.

Tell me...if the ID of the pipe at the TB is 2". And you add a 2" long smooth pipe extension to that 2" outlet...youre telling me that will negate any increases the design of the intake will create?

No way. Like I said, if the extension used is created properly, the loss will be minimal. This is all assuming its even possible to fit the intake at all, and the only problem with fitment is the position of the TB. A proper extension will not destroy the design.

It'll fit for sure. I was running that setup, until the J's intake got jacked.

I found out the hard way that indeed, the J's Racing intake will not fit the stock b18c1 IM.
So what I did is I made my own extension, between the TB and the end of the intake. I tried all sorts of positioning (too poor to afford S2 IM at this point), in the end I had to relocate the coolant reservoir and removed its mounting bracket altogether. From the various angles I measured it at, the optimal setup would need roughly 5" of piping rubber plumbing piping, with a slight bend (like 20 degree more or less) in the middle, and able to slip over the tb and into the silicone reducer included with the intake. So mine is kinda like that, only no bend.
Just by looking at it, its clear that this is obviously not how J's Racing intended the intake to be used. I even put a slight chamfer on the intake side of the piping, to smooth the flow of air as it merges from the intake to the extension. No matter how smooth you make it, there will always be a disruption in flow. And from their, you're basically taking the normal 2.5" bottleneck (about 2" from intake to TB) and extending it another 3". I'm pretty sure this defeats the venturi effect you'd normally get when the intake is hooked up correctly. I could be wrong though, as I have no dyno plots to compare, and no proper vs improper setup impressions to give.

Its not exactly the kind of mod you see all the time. Its not so much the added hp, but the increased throttle response that people love. And apparently, yeah its worth it.

i wasn't really into this intake but how i got interested in it was because rocket and a few others saw a member from m24x board with 2.0 12.1 with a stock intake he swapped to the j's and got 12whp. I then saw the dyno comparison by steve sakai in which the j's racing was the best intake from the intakes that were tested. I then started to do a little more reserach i kno dyno's with intakes don't really mean much with the fan blowing like moving the intake up away from the enigne bay gives more hp and in real life it will be heat soaked but im only considering it. 60 dollars for a fake one mite as well give it a try.
