Default Big Willow in the STS car

Car handled it quite well. Temps were cool, bad (I heard 25mph) headwind on front straight hurt acceleration. 96-97mph exit speed from 9 netted only 107-108 before braking for 1. The straight is a half mile!

Motor stayed cool, only used a little bit of oil in 4 hard sessions. Brake pedal developed some extra travel that I think is due to rear shoes wearing themselves out of "tight" adjustment. Brakes didn't get used a whole lot. Falken tires show very little wear, even the left front.

Last session out, had track to myself. Camera battery died before last lap, which I know was my best. Still, captured a 1:39.2 and a 1:39.7, which I guess is okay for a full-interior car on street tires with a worn out 108hp motor.

Teehee.... That word has been known to escape my lips during similar occasions...

What's with the turned rearview mirror? I hope you didn't do that all weekend...

Andy - who, maybe, thinks it's a good idea not to have an in-car camera...

The plastic ball-cup thingy holding it on is broken, and it'd be illegal in autocross (the car's primary purpose) to not have it. It's zip tied at an angle that doesn't obscure forward vision. Car gets trailered so its loss is no big deal.

Transponders weren't available at the event, so the camera was mainly for timing purposes. I don't track often enough to warrant Hot Lap gear.

you need to get more of your STS civic si buddies out there maybe some of the motors will blow up rendering them useless in auto-x.

LOL. Thats the same thing that happened after I tracked mine. I'm still trying to get it back to normal after over a month of adjusting/replacing everything on the brake system.

Jason:

Outstanding work. Nice video and very good times. I've got about 40-45hp on you and I'm still two seconds slower. And that's on RA-1s and Progress coilovers. Maybe next time I go out, you can show me how to drive

PS: There's a great looking Alfa club event at Buttonwillow on May 29-30. http://www.arosc.org

Great video Jason. I've been to Willow Springs before and I doubt I'll ever go again(at least with my current car). I just didn't find it as fun as Streets or Buttonwillow because there was very little braking involved.
BTW, good luck to you and Ken at Atwater.
