How to tell OBD2a-ODB2b harness from OBD1-OBD2 ??
I just bought a harness from someone who tells me the harness is an OBD2a to OBD2b (I want to install a JUN P73 ECU on my 2001 ITR). When I plug it in my car with the JUN P73, the car starts lazy (takes more turn-overs than usual to start), the car feels a lot less strong than with the OEM ECU, and the car will not rev past 8400 (the JUN ECU is supposed to rev to 9500).. I am thinking the harness is bad or not the correct one. How can I tell by looking at the part if it is the correct one ?? Pictures ?? Thanks a lot for the help ..
Here is my current setup ..

Post up a pic of the harness. Where did you get your ECU and is it a real JUN ECU or just one that was programmed with the 'JUN' program?
The ECU is a JUN P73 original .. NOT a chipped ECU. The harness I am using was originally on a 2001 ITR running a Mugen N1 ECU and it worked fine .. Is the Mugen a P73 ?? Are the symptoms I posted typical when using a wrong harness ?? Thanks for the info ..
