Dont they have a fairly soft sidewall? I dont know that they'd be very good for autocrossing.

I've seen a few stick axle guys use the Nitto drag tires on the rear, say they work pretty well.

I wouldn't think that the drag tires would have enough side wall strenghth to work well

I've seen this as well. Theres a kid I go to school with who runs a fairly stock CP Trans-Am on Nitto drag radials and he was very fast. Don't know how they'd work on other cars though.

A guy used a set of four of these at a local event on a EF hatch and said they didn't work nearly as well as his Azenies.

I've used the 205/40-17 size on the front my civic for the last couple of years. Awesome straight line grip, but they suck as far as handling goes with those on the front and P7000 supersports on the rear. WAY too soft of a sidewall. I believe only the Nitto n555r 205/45-16 (which they don't make anymore ) had the reinforced sidewall.

If anyone has any 205/45-16 N555r's i'll buy them!

i used some nitto 555r's at an auto-x once and they did pretty well, there was also a Mercedes wagon out there running them.

Also, if you're concerned about the SCCA's rules, I don't think street drag tires are allowed in most of the classes. Not sure on that one though.
