ANYONE WITH RSX-S
IM CURRENTLY LOOKING INTO GETTING ONE AND WANTED TO KNOW IF ANYONE HAD ANY PROBLEMS/REGRETS, AND WHAT WOULD BE YOUR SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPORTANT BOLT-ON, AND DOES ANYONE HAVE THE HONDATA REFLASH(AND WHAT THEY THINK OF IT?
I love mine, you should buy it, its currently for sale. Have had no problems with it and is a awesome car in general. Mine is stock, but I have seen them do quite well with light mods.
i love my type-s no problems what so ever....the only thing i would suggest is that if you're going to do suspension work make sure you do your homework so you get the one that best suits you...i went through 3 susp. kits and finally found one that i like
only regret is having the 2nd gear grind. But that was because I had the 1st rsx type s at the dealer when it 1st came out. they serviced it and now it's alot better.
Yes, tranny
. 3rd gear feels notchy more than enough times, notchy enough that it doesn't go into gear sometimes. Plus I don't like the feel of the shifting. I'd rather go back to the linkage in my Integra. But fun to drive none the less.
Everything is great, no other major problems besides the tranny.
These are the only bolt-ons I have...

I have a Comptech shorty and straightpipe from the downpipe. It could almost act as a race header.

Was that pipe made custom for you, or did you purchase it from somewhere?

How difficult is it to install headers and intake on DC5's?
I'm looking into getting one (used).
I hear hondata + tuning and dyno time will make a suprising amout of power, too. Is there validity to this?
Does anyone have that AEM intake that claims to make 20whp? Does the butt/real dyno agree?
thanks!

yes he is. for what it is its a great car i love mine. with that said my next car will be a evo or sti unless honda dedcides to bring a awd to america in the next year and a half but i dont see that happening.
You couldn't have picked a better time to make this post. I have someone offering me $6,000 for my prelude and another kid offering me $2,000 for my accord and after those sell I was looking at buying an RSX.
Can you guys post some more pictures of yours if you have any?

I bought the car with like 2.5" piping. The only thing stock on the exhaust is the part from the header that bolts up to the cat. Of course the cat isn't there.

Anyone have this issue with their Type S?
My G/F just picked up her 2004 RSX-S and when in 4th, if you rest your hand on the shifter, it vibrates harshly. No noise or anything, but it has her worried. I've told her NOT to rest her hand on the shifter, but she also wants to know what is going on.

Not really. When in 5th and about to shift into 6th with hand resting on the shifter, it might vibrate a small bit.

I just traded my v6 99 Accord and bought an RSX-S mid-March 2004 and this is my first stick shift! So far the only problem is the side airbag light (no big deal, warrenty covers the check up) coming on and the slight slight grind when shifting to third gear. I hope I'm shifting correctly...
Overall the reports on this car are good and bad but in my opinion I like it. Not just the performance but the ebony black leather (when you get the Type-S) seats and black cockpit.
I like this car because there are so many aftermarket products to put on if you feel like you need more horsepower (which you really don't need), and thats my plan after a year or two.
I'm still learning more and more about this car. If you didn't buy it already ask the dealer for 21,500 for an 04 Type-S (now it comes with heated mirrors).

Also happens with the accord. I think what happens is as you rest your had on the stick, it puts pressure on the linkage pushing it closer unto the assembly with the cogs. What you’re actually feeling are the cogs rotating in the housing. It’s always vibrating but as you press thee gear stick, it transmits the vibration through the linkage.
Nothing to worry about.

My side airbag light comes on every once in a while.Usually when someone has most of their weight on the outside of the seat or when they move around.
