Clutch Pedal Really Mushy
I have a 94 GSR. The clutch pedal has become very mushy in the past few days. The fluid was dry when I checked it today. I filled it back up and its still very mushy. I am not sure if it has a leak because i just recently filled it. What could the possible motives be behind this problem. Clutch pedal adjustment, lube, master clutch cylinder, slave cylinder???? I am in southern VA at school and nearest dealership is 40 miles away. So i kinda want to fix this on my own. Any help would be greatly apprecitated.
My guess would me master cylinder (1st) or slave cylinder (2nd). Since the reservoir was dry that indicates you have a leak. Look up under the dash and you may be able to see where the master cylinder was leaking. Since it was dry, there was probably air in the system when you refilled it. That would be why it is still mushy.
Aight well I just looked up under the dash and sure enough there was fluid all over that whole area. So I guess that would infer a leak. But in which cylinder. How much does its cost to get these things replaced, or is it a simple enough thing to do at home?????
http://www.ahmotor.com sells master cylinder for $88 and labor should be an hour or so.
