Default WCSCC Autocross 4/18

Said like "Comic Book Guy" from the Simpsons...

Best. Lot. Ever!

Also said like "Comic Book Guy"...

Worst. Organization. Ever!

******* brilliant course on Perry's part!!! Personally, one of my best events ever considering we had a "Who's Who" of big name autocrossers in attendance, most notably, Mark Daddio. He PAXed the event. I came in 3rd overall. Quite pleased.

For once, I wish we didn't have any crowds watching us though.

Ageed. If it wasn't for the crowd of punks and the fairly poor orgazination of the event, it would be the best place ever...

Mark Daddio? Who's that guy? Now that Crea guy, he's the man!

Congrats on your third place finish!

Thanks Dave,

I didn't mention that Tad Kaminski finished second in PAX!

He about 0.1 off Daddio, and I was about 0.4 behind Daddio in PAX.

It should be known Daddio was in an old CSP RX-7... Imagine PAXing in a CSP car! Insane!

But, Tom Bracci (the RX-7 owner), Pat Salerno, Sam Strano, Perry Aidelbaum, and Brian Conners were there as well and all those guys finished behind us.

There were 80 drivers overall btw...

Based on the results, I wonder if Sam Strano still thinks the STS and STX PAX indexes are too soft... he wasn't too subtle about letting it be known in 2002 and 2003!

Hopefully, results are posted soon.

Whoa! In a first gen RX7?! geez oh pete.

Kudos to Tad as well... looks like he's been getting some seat time.

I think quite a few folks share those sentiments about STS/STX and now I guess STS/X2. Hey but they can always car **** their way into an ST car... afterall they are "gods".

course

i hope another club can get the lot in the fall. nyr or nnjr could have amazing events there and 2351654654654654 runs.
but on the plus side, wscc's events arent total crap. they consider first in pax FTD. which means that open wheel doesnt automaticly equal ftd. and there reg. fee is cheap.

I've heard this is a spectacular lot. However, being in da Bronx, I'll bet for an old-timer like me it would be deja vu-y all over again of what running at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn was like. Lots of, shall we say, local flavor among the non-participants. Also related to being within the 5 boroughs, OK to get to in the AM, but I'm sure traffic was a be-yotch on the way home.........

And Wes-chez-tah SCC, well, their events haven't changed since the 1st event I ran with them at Glen Island Park in New Rochelle circa 1985. except apparently course design respondsibilities are now being delegated. That's a good thing.

Me and a few others at NNJR-PCA at Giants Stadium were joking pretty much about all the above on Sunday. Now that event had a good course, no traffic either way, 6 runs, and I was home in my driveway at 3:15pm (!)

Anthony...are you going to do DC Tour and PRO.? I suspect Jr. (mine) will decide its time to see the world just about the time I get ready to run at one of those weekends.

No national level events for me this year. Baby's due at the time the events take place. besides, I'm going to the Canadian GP June 11-13 and I needed to make a decision.
