On My Way to the Dyno for Lunch...Anything I Need to Know?
It's the new Mustang Dyno in NOVA that someone posted about earlier this month. Will the dyno operators do everything for me? Any tips suggestions...anything at all that I should know or do?! Damn, I'm so excited and hyped up for some reason. Hopefully, I don't have a dud Type R.

Is it a Mustang Dyno or Dynojet Dyno? That will give you different results.
Doh..I guess he did huh?
I guess I read it as a "new Mustang dyno center"...as in specilizing in dynoing Ford Mustangs...we have some like that around here.

EDIT - How long does 3 runs on the dyno take?

I've been hearing 3rd gear pulls and 4th gear pulls. Can anybody shed light on what the difference is (except for the obvious that one is done using 3rd and one is using 4th gear)?
3rd gear pulls for ITR's.
If you're doing straight runs, there's really nothing you can play with. Well, actually, you can play with your ignition timing. Most people set it to 18 deg. It'll require a timing gun.
Also, just for fun, you might want to time how fast the motor accelerates from 2,500 rpm on up and then later compare with your new setup.
That's about it. Oh yeah, for the heck of it try pulling in w/ your rear tires on the dyno.
They will get a kick out of it.

WHY 3rd Gear??????? Don't you want the closest gearing to 1-1 which would be 4th gear?

3rd or 4th it really doesn't matter.
You should change your plugs and your oil before you or in between runs.
I don't know what mods you have or if you have a tuning aid or not. Basically what you want to do is look at your af ratio and keep it around 13:1 throughout. Then play with timing and cam gear settings.

3rd and 4th are pretty damn close. It wont really matter which you dyno in...jsyt make sure from now on you always use teh same gear for fair comparrions.

fyi - my correction factor was as follows for Mustang dyno vs dyno jet:
MD + 18.6%hp = Dynojet numbers
MD + 17.5%tq = Dynojet numbers
I did fuel tuning on the mustang dyno after performing a baseline using exact same setup that was previously run on Dynojet.
Hope this helps...I know D was looking for these numbers before too
