AFAIK this car has been owned by at least 3 different owners. If it is such a sweet car as it is, why people would pay then get rid of it? Maybe some mechanical reliability issues? It's not uncommon for such a heavily modified car.
Nick used to be on this board - and was a smack talker if memory serves. He had some poor customer relation issues with his shop that eventually hashed out on this board. He also boasted about how he was going to kick *** on One Lap of America with his Skyline GT-R too. As it turns out he didn't even finish in the top 150. He got beat by a stock VW New Beetle! And since then hasn't been heard of since.....

I believe the Skyline suffered from some sort of engine or transmission problem, causing him to miss many of the track events in One Lap. Please check your facts before making such remarks.
its missing all the goodies. the mugen seats, steering wheel, valve cover, intake, speedo? am i missing something when they are claiming mugen Type R. Not even close in comparison to EP's car.

As far I know that is correct, Then Nich shot back to Chicago to pick up a s-2000 that was also damaged While trying to compete in the One Lap of America.
Yes that car was Nicks at one time.
I have also meet nick @ Gingerman twice, BSd with him alittle, never had any problems with him. The 2nd time he was trying to get the skyline out on the track.

Yes that was the car of Nick Wong's, the first owner... I know Nick thur my cousin Sam... Sam worked for Nick for a few year's until Speed Sport shut down... The reason Speed Sport(place where some customers had problems dealing with) closed was because one dishonest worker scam money away from customer's AND employer... I dont want to get into full details...
I know kinda know why the current owner is selling the Mugen ITR... From what i had heard was, "the owner couldn't handle what the car is capable of, hence the clutch or something"... That is what my friend told me once the car was sold to him... The car was sold to a friend/co-worker of Nick Wong, his name was Terry ??? forgot his last name... Both guyz were really cool... Thats where i got my swap from... Terry now owns a WRX... Nick Wong owns Mugen S2000(it's at the King's site, the red one), Lexus LX470, Jaguar ???(his uncle from Europe gave it to him and sent it oversea's), Ducati Monster and not to forget his 92 Nissan Skyline GT-R...
Nick's Skyline was featured in Sport Compact Car before... The GT-R was doing so bad at one-lap before due to transmission failure and the motor was blown again... Signal Auto rebuilt the motor and Nick once again went for one-lap again and found out Signal had built a "drag" motor and now it's sitting at a shop again...

EPG,
you got that right. Gansan, GK, never were said much but he is one damn good driver. As the matter of fact, he was my instructor at Laguna Seca several years back.

I second what Gansan and HybridHatch128 said above. I also know Nick Wong personally and still keep in touch with him as recently as last week. He is a good guy and the problems with Speedsport was not his fault at all. Speedsport was just a hobby for him and he was busy with his other business interests which enabled an employee to steal money from the company and customers.
When that car was owned by Nick, it had $20,000+ of Mugen upgrades. Basically, the whole King Motorsport catalog including the Seats, Steering Wheel, etc. as featured in Car & Driver and Sport Compact Car. If the current car doesn't have those options, the owners after Nick must have removed them and sold it. That car was like the twin brother of EP's car, except the color.

There are people on the Type R lists or boards have their shares of smack talk from Wong.
There are also people said that he is a nice guy and has no problem dealing with him.
I guess there are 2 sides of a coin. So there is no need for anyone to trash or back-up a person on a public board like this. Especially if he is not reading it, these talks would be "behind his back" and no one would appreciate that.
Let's stop that and talk about the "King Motorsports Mugen Type-R".

Please allow me to clear up some of the in-accurate thinking:
Wai and onyx00: You are right, the car is under its third owner, but why does that automatically make it an un-reliable car? I can assure you that there are no 'mechanical reliability issues'. In fact, the car has been nothing but reliable in every way. I have driven the car extensively, including a three day event at Gingerman with NO problems. This is when I ran lap times of 1:38.xx, and this was only my second time at the track, the first being a CGI event. I wouldn't hesitate to put it on a road course against ANY daily driven, street legal ITR. I have done a compression and leakdown test, and I called King, and they confirmed that they were within specs. I am not getting rid of the car for reliability issues at all.
Big Phat R: I think Gansan said it best...
FAST94GSR: Damn, your post is the most ignorant one of them
Define 'FAST' and 'SLOW' for me if you would. Is 'FAST' being able to run the 1/4 mile in 13 flat, and everything else is slow? If that is the case, I guess the car is slow. Or, is 'FAST' me lapping your *** on the road course because your car is 'SLOW'? Of course, that would be a hypothetical situation
Please clarify if you would. Oh, in case you didn't know, the car was built for the road course, not the quarter.
98TypeR:You are right, it doesn't have the items you listed, and maybe I can shed some light on why. If I am not mistaken, Nick kept the seats when he sold the car and put them in his S2K. Nick never bought the steering wheel, as he preferred the one that is currently on there, King just put it on for the articles. As of some point, the Mugen steering wheel is not available. The valve cover... well, that is due to the $800 price tag for virtually nothing, but I see your point. The intake is not on this car because that it will not work with A/C, which this car has. Remember, this is a daily driven car. I don't think the speedo is offerred in mph, only kmh. As far as claiming it as the 'Mugen Type R', that is what everyone refers to it as due to the magazine articles and because King built the entire car. Sorry if that upset you, as that was not the goal.
hybrid_eg: LOL... that's pretty good
HybridHatch128: That would not be the case at all, although I am not quite certain what you mean the part hence the clutch or something"...
As Robbie RMR stated, Nick is a very good guy. He had the same problem with people on this board that Ken and many others had, so he left. It is just like this thread for an example, there is all kinds of speculation going on without ANY proof.
To answer some of the other questions:
This is an e-mail that I wrote to someone that asked why I was selling it:
>Hello there,
>Why is this car being transferred so many times? Nick, Terry and then you?
>any problems?? just curious?
>Thanks
From what I understand in talking with Nick, he got rid of it because he really didn't have any use for it since he has his S2K and GT-R. He said the car just sat in the garage and it was set-up too nice to not be on the track. Terry told me he was selling it because he was taking care of his mom, and basically, he needed something a little more practical and with four doors.
I am selling it as my plans have changed slightly. I am trying to save up for a house, and I am going back to school to get my Master's Degree. My boss approached me not too long ago and informed me of what the next five years would bring to our department, and there is an awesome opportunity for me to get promoted, and getting my Masters will help a lot. Unfortunately, I can not afford the car and to do those things, too. I have taken the car to the track, and it performs flawlessly. I am truely amazed. I have also done a compression and leakdown test, and all of the numbers are within spec, so the motor is strong. When I bought it, I was planning on doing the Japanese front with the Mugen hood/bumper along with some other little things, but I now have to consider the bigger picture. I wish I could afford to keep it because I now live only 30 minutes away from the roadcourse (a dream come true to me). I do have another ITR, but it is pretty much stock, and doesn't compare to the way this one performs. I really don't want to get rid of this car, but it is my biggest expense at the moment, so it only makes sense.

its probably slow. parts that say mugen on it doesn't make it fast.

I only hope that I can trick WhiteDragon into letting me drive the King Motorsports R before some lucky **** buys it. I've seen a few in-car videos of it on the track, and it's downright silly how easily it dispatches with slower traffic (vipers, porsches, open-cockpit racers, etc.), no exceptions.
First of all, the King's ITR which Nick Wong once owned was only a TRACK car... It has only seen the 1320's once and it was with Spoon filter, Spoon exhaust and Spoon ECU... If i remember correctly it ran a 14.5 and it wasnt even him driving it... Nick see's no point in drag racing since anyone can drive in a straight line... The ITR being sold right now kept up with the World Challenge NSX and finished only 2second's away from it... At that point in time, it WASNT Mugenized... For the ppl who say's his car is slow, i would like for u to see him driving on a race track and then tell me if his car is slow or not... Or better yet, race against him...
White Dragon- So ur the one who bought that ITR... Lucky u to have owned it even tho it's been like half a year... I was there the day i saw it last, my friend had changed the brake's in that thing... Then off it goes with Terry and Blake driving all the way down to where u live so they can drop of the car to u... My friend told me that u couldnt get use to the clutch or something and called Terry back to see if he can return the money or something like that... I cant really rely on this guy's word's so i rather keep his name unknown... If i only have money to purchase the ITR from ur hands, then it would come back to the original team "Endless"... I heard Nick saw that he does miss that car, but owell what can he do now...
