Default crx exhaust?

alright well i wanna get a cat-back for my crx, but i dont want it to be like how the stock one is.... like the muffler is in the middle and then there is more piping then the tip comes out at the bumper. i want the whole muffler right there at the cut out. does anyone know of any companies that make them like that b/c i've been looking and i can't really find any and some look like they come out the other side the non-exhaust cut out side and i don't want that. so if anyone knows of any cat back systems like that please let me know, or i might just get a custom exhaust done. sorry if that is hard to understand

Go to a local muffler shop... you know the kind that also do Tractors, misc. welding, etc.. (No I'm not joking, it's a midwest thing.) And have them make you a 2.5" pipe crush bent (or 2.25" mandrel bent) pipe that will match your stock pipe's bends, from the header back. Eliminate the Cat if you don't have emissions, and have them place 2 resonators on there. Go to http://www.optauto.com, buy the 5Zigen axle back kit. It comes out the opposite side of the car for greater flow, and with 2 resonators it's the perfect sound level. This should run you no more than $250-$275, and you eliminate that shitty stock muffler, your car will look trick, and you'll make some great power.

I think the Tanabe Racing Medallion comes out at a angle and it's just the muffler you see.

i have never seen an exhaust shop with a mandrel bending machine....except for the major manufactures of aftermarket exhaust systems.

most likely your local shops will not have one either... if you go to a local exhaust place you will get crush bend pipe... no biggy its a 1-2hp difference maybe. and if you don't have any major work on your civic don't get a 2.5" exhaust because you don't need it. you'll actually hurt the power increase your trying to get by installing that large of an exhaust pipe. get the 2.25" and you'll be all set.

Yeah... but if you have two resonators (as is what you want to get if you value your hearing) and you get crush bent, the power gains are exactly the same as with the 2.25 mandrel. In effect, the extra .25 is sompensating for the bends, resonator, and odd muffler position. But with no cat, and a 5Zigen, all bets are off... lol.
