Well i was saving up for my B18c motor swap for my 98 4dr and i thaught what if i trade it in for an s2000. I went a car lot that had a red s2000 and i test drove it. WOW. What a car. It looks amazing. The performance was nice, gotta love the 9k redline. The only thing was that the insurance was killer. I think i'll keep my civic and get my swap.

 

HAHAHA!!! I was in the same boat as you. I had always loved the S2000 but never really thought about getting one. Then I drove one and it was on like donkey kong!! Good luck with whatever you choose!!

 

Yep I was in the same situation. I had a beat up 98 coupe and was about to put some major money into it. Then it gets stolen right infront of my house one night so I take my insurance check (which was way more than the car was worth) and bought a new S2000. couldn't be happier.

You'll like driving the S2000 a lot more and it'll be more reliable. You probably won't like the insurance or the expensive payments though.

yeah the payments are 280 and the insurance is like 200. Its bad but i kinda like driving my civic better. Sounds weird. I felt cramed in there and i'm a short guy 5-9. The blind spots are really bad with the top up. And i love the gas mileage of my civic. But the girls really notice the s2000 when i went to get gas i had people asking me what kind of car it was and stuff.

 

I'd take one over a Porsche Boxer anyday!

are u kidding me? for that kind of money, you can buy a used nsx. or you can mod the s2000. and plus, most guys i see in porshes are ****.

as for the s2. i sold my dohc93hatch for it. i still miss the hatch. you cant treat the s2 like the hatch. i miss my hatch since it feels like i can still be a young again, but then again at the this age u have to think twice.

ur blind spots wont be as nasty as they are if u have a hardtop, and a 330mm boardway. i can almost see everything

insurance scared me away too

 

driving an s2000 is soo nice i drove a stock one and it was plenty for me

 

insurance on an S is nothing compared to ITR's. after going from an ITR, the S seemed like a great deal.

btw, how much of an issue is theft for s2k's?

I would too. I'd take a S2000 over a normal Boxter, Boxter S over a S2000. Although I wouldn't pay Boxter S money...

I suppose it's a relative situation. I live on an island with 20,000 people year round, nearly 30,000 in the tourist season, and we've never had an issue with our S2000. It gets a lot of looks, but no one has even looked inside at the interior without our presence. Well, that's to our knowledge, of course. This might be because of our small-town environment Like I said, mainly depends on where you live
