Default 01 ITR boost?

Not sure if this is in the right forum either this one or the F/I forum, but this is ITR related.

I am thinking of running a FMAX turbo kit from turbo-kits.com and running 6 pounds of boost for a 75-100 HP gain. I've posted on other forums about this, and want to get feedback on this setup. I am thinking about doing a comptech exhaust setup as well.

Any suggestions to gain HP without 4 grand in a turbo kit?

4K$ is really bottom dollar, because an ECU (Hondata or AEM EMS) and tuning would be nice.

My setup cost me exactly 4k, and that includes evreything Turob kit, Gauges, 3" Exhuast, Hondata, Tuning, ect..... This is however a custom kit, Custom kits have became real popular lately because you can get the exact parts you want, while generally saving $$ at the same time.

The average Itr, with good fuel management/tune on 6-7 psi generally makes just shy of 300 hp on stock motor. Most #'s land right around 290-295

Search around, learn the ropes and if you can shop around, and make some smart choices that 4k can go a long way.

Good luck, im sure some of the boosted Itr guys will chime in.

My car is currently stock, besides the aem CAI, which doesnt mean too much if i am going to boost. I would really like to run 300hp on the stock block, and quikb18b where'd you get all your parts from?

I have a few friends that are sponsors, and stuff on the site. I got a few things here and there from friends, picked up a few things online(honda-tech classifieds), got my inline Pro manifold from Arturbo. He is a dealer for precision, inline pro ect...

My advise is check the sponsor forced induction forum, the sponsors are always doing groupbuys, and good deals on parts. Two I'd recomend are Ben@ importparts.com, and Kyle from wiredspeedlab, they have excellent reps and have good prices.

forget comptech for boost.. unless they started making 2.5" or 3" exhaust. fmax is overpriced.. i'd like to see how drag 4 turns out for integras.. i'd suggest revhard kit, but exclude fuel managment. run standalone with larger injectors, intank fuel pump nd probably f.p.r.

expect to spend 5-8K on good turbo setup or even more.. its not cheap. it can be done for less, but unlikely, becayuse you'll need to get everything on sale and/or used.

if you want sub 300's hp on stock motor, i'd suggest super 60.. or S trim T4/T3, both with .48 a/r for quicker spool.

now.. nitrous is the cheapest, but theres a catch to nitrous - its not cheap in the long run.. with turbo you can boost whenever and theres not refills - and thats where it gets you in the long run.

yeah forget the comptech, thats what i have now with my set up im gonna loose some whp because of it, but im getting a custom 3" soon. and i would go with the drag kit, you can piece one together and if done right is very nice, but you may run into problems. PM boostedcivicsir hes workin on a custom kit for someone now and its hell, guy got all the wrong parts. i would just start off with drag unless you plan on the car being a monster. because if your looking for huge gains im sure you would want a bigger turbo. i replaced the drag wastegate with a tial, the drag wastegate is junk. anyways good luck and let us know how it goes.

"mase" on this board has run turbo for a while and has done it fairly cheap. contact him and ask his opinion. i know for sure that he does not subscribe to the motto of "cheap, fast, reliable...pick two"

Shop around! I got my FMAX for $3000 (brand new) on a group buy that I had here 3 years ago. I think Import Parts can cut you a deal too; maybe not $3k but less thank $4k.

My advice is to ditch the ERL MF2 and extra injector crap and get a quality standalone. My car was very temperamental about fuel so it was a bitch to tune. but get a good tuner like I did and ITR+turbo=

So, what kit should i go with if not fmax? I'd spend the cash for the fmax and get the SA FM system, but need to know what should i buy.

If your going to buy a PRefabbed kit, My Vote is the Revhard, IMO it's the most complete basic prefabbed kit on the market. Not to mention you can get it for around $2800. They include precision turbo's in thier kits, the manifold is good, tial wastegate, big intercooler If your going that route, buy the kit, and sell the Fmu/Missing link and go with hondata or some sort of tunable Ems.
