Default Update on swap..

It sounds like i have a dead cylinder. or my timing might still be off. I got to the point where im starting the car and lettin it idle. It smells like coolant out the exhaust... a problem i know... so i think im gonna pull her into the garage and pull the head off to check wtf is up... so far it runs but i have a vaccum leak somewhere

from a junkyard, rebuilt it myself has a brand new bottom end.. i went all stock.. notplannin on to much for this motor just being a daily driver right now, nothin to serious..

i found out that the intake manifold is leakin coolant into the #4 piston. not much but just a little bit, i need to get a new gasket. but i figured it out so i know what the problem is.. but there is still one question. Where is the Cranke angle sensor. It flashing #9 which is CAS. Im lookin for it but cannot locate it, i was going to figure out where it is so i can fix it. Thx for any help

I'm not 100% sure I know it's in the back of the motor somewhere, close to the crank. I was trying to find it myself on my friends motor, couldn't find it but then someone told me it's there.

i took it for a lil spin tonight.. *night from hell

started up ran rough then idles fine.. as i accelerate i cant mash the accel.. cuz it has lack or fuel or spark or somethin if i tap the gas pedal it runs fine.. i think my timing is off.. im not sure anyway all the sudden on a dark empty road it just quits on me.. i spend 1 hour out there with only a screwdriver at my dispsosal.. i take the distribby cap off.. OIL pours out of it.. im like oh ****.. i turn it over with out the cap on, and replace it.. start up.. i get in and go i have to burn the clutch i cant just let out and go ... like revvin up to about 5 and slowly lettin out while on the accel slightly... i got it home ... thank god.. i am stummped now.. more ponderin and redo's ****...

please post comments

edit: buncho typo!

holy ****. It sounds like the seals on the distributor are gone. I don't think I've heard of that being a common problem, but I could see it happening. That would explain why you are getting code nine.
