pretty sure redline is 6800, but you can take it to 7200, i have, but the power drops out just before the 6800 redline so there is really no point.

you want to land at 5200rpm when you shift.

in a gen 3 1st and 2nd gear you gotta redline unless u are chipped to go higher cuz at 7k you'll land at like 4 something. 3rd shift at 6500 and 4th is about 6500 too

As said many times before, it's 6800rpm indicated on the tach.

7100rpm is supposed to be fuel cutoff. My S-AFC read 7110 as the highest point when I bounced once.

Once I misshifted and hit 9220 as indicated by the AFC. No problems ever came up either.

I'm surprised how many people said 6800, some of the same people that are always bitching at n00bs for asking silly questions. It's 6900.

Redline is 6800 on the LS... I have read it many places... you can however rev it a little higher... it is olny fuel cut off at 6800 so it is possible to spin it higher, but it is not exactly the safest thing to do since you are just spinning the damn thing on it's own intertia without combustion pressure helping to accelerate pistons and such... I duno if I would trust a mass produced plastic stamp thing in the dash to be precise>IE stock tach!!!

yes the red line is 6800 rpm, this has been coverd many times.......

i can take mine to 7100 rpm all day....
7200 is the fuel cut off, take it to 7200 and find out what hapens....nothin bad, but you'll feel it.
there is a point to rev the engine higher then 6800, it's so it falls back into a certain rpm you want(where the engine is making more power) when you up shift.......
