hb with gsr. f/i or n/a?
hi. i have a hb with a gsr motor i/h/e clutch/flywheel ecu. my car is daily driven. turbo is more bang for ur buck as in speed wise but i heard that it cost alot to maintain turbo. i dont have that much money, but i could afford turbo right now? should i go or should i stay with n/a. well the real question is, is turbo expensive to keep? i race usually every friday or saturday.
If you dont know what your doing Turbo can be expensive. Aka blowing up motors.
If you know what your doing the only maintenence will be oil changes, and plug changes(More frequently). I wouldnt say that gets too expensive, because changing the oil well is an expense either way you go.
No matter which way you go, you run the risk of breaking things, the thing with Turbo is 1) Your making more power/torque, and
2) there are flat out just more parts that can fail(Turbo Kit)
So put a Turbo in the wrong hands and Yes it will be expensive, but If you do things right, its no more trouble than an All motor car.

excatly... only thing i replaced when boosting was plugs and oil... i boosted for 2 years... ohh wait and also the brass fitting that came with the auto meter oil pressure sending unit... cheap little peice... broke on me one day.. other than that i had no problems... but if u dont have taht much money i wouldnt do it.
I would stay N/A, Turbos can be very expensive. Both of my brothers are FI, and they are going through motors like crazy. Save up and by a really good turbo with the right fuel management (hondata for example) Make sure that you do it right. You pay for what you get.
My GSR, has been very reliable and I have always loved the looks and more importantly the handling. Be patient.
Good luck
