Feeback wanted on OPM headers
No pics but at least 3 of the top 4 CRX at the ARRC this year were running them - if Evans was that makes 4 out of 4. They are very widely used on IT CRX in the SouthEast, I don't know how much so on the west coast. This is a full race header however, not sure it would be practical on a street car (don't know, just a guessin').
as for feedback, its the only header I have run and like it very much.

I had one on my Integra and now on my ITC Civic.
Good stuff. An off busted up the last one I had on the Civic and I'm getting another one just like it.
But as mentioned, its a race header. It doesn't bolt up to the cat and it doesn't have an o2 sensor bung (but since they are individually hand made I'm guessing you could get a bung put in if you wanted).

Aren't these also 4-into-1 headers? If you are using it for autocrossing, you may want to look more at the 4-2-1 design for better mid range torque. The 4-into-1 design usually will get you more top end power, but give up a bit in the low and mid range.
Not sure your application, but just thought I would add this as a consideration.

Thanks guys. My car is a track only deal, so a race header is exactly what I'm looking for. Do these headers come with a coating of any type? If any one with a CRX could take a picture of it in the engine bay, that would be very helpful. I want to see if it will clear my Koyo radiator.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I run one as well and it had no problem clearing the Koyo bling-bling, huge, overkill, aluminum radiator I had in the car.
My TQ curve is rather flat without the dropoff in low RPM's that you'd expect from a 4-1 design. I'm very pleased w/ Walt's work!

If it is who I'm thinking, the person (let's call him Walt) that actually makes this header for OPM is on this board. And may I add, he builds some pretty incredible stuff....only the best.
Best bet would be to call OPM Autosports, ask them how much clearance this header has on the standard radiator...then determine how much space you need and presto. They can probably walk around in there garage and find a CRX with this header on it and measure it. Good luck.

I am a repeat customer on the OPM Honda headers. I thought it was one of the strengths on my best ITA car and didn't consider anything else on the Prod car. I had an O2 sensor bung welded in because I am going to need the O2 sensor.
Here is a pic on the engine stand before I had it coated. I talked to Walt about the expectations on the engine and power and he was able to do some special length adjustments for this engine.

Here it is in the engine bay after being coated by Diversified finishes and Honda guy Jinx Jordan. This is sitting behind a Honda 2 row radiator (OE on the CRX was one row). Now it is all installed with an electric fan on the inside. It is somewhat tight but it is all there with enough room.

I'm a happy repeat customer.

Yes. We started using it first about 3 years ago right after we switched from the 4-2-1 DC header we had been using until then. A trip to the dyno is the reason for the change. You can expect noticeable top end gains in the last 1K of your rev range with no power lost below that. This is also the header we're using on our new 2g integra ITA car.

Oh? Pics?
Oh? Pics?
Anyone used the OPM LSD by any chance? I would like to know if it truly works well and will be reliable/long lasting.
Thanks,

Anyone put the OPM header up against a DC, a Bisi, or ? and would share the results? I know racers are a very quiet bunch when it comes to saying what works and what doesn't, so I am also curious if someone should be willing to share this info. Seat of the pants dynos need not apply. If you've got back-to-back dyno charts of this, I would and I think some others would appreciate the info.

As for the LSD Lee, how do you think it would be for daily driving? I've just heard bad stories of clutch type LSD's being miserable for daily driving but they were all for b series. What do you think?

While racers may tend to play their performance cards close to the vest, any time you get as many reputable people as you have here endorsing one supplier (that Walt guy) you can be confident that you will get the goods.

My cars with the OPM LSDs were all racecars so I have no frame of reference on the street. I seem to recall that OPM has said they have had good success with them run on the street but I have no first hand experience with that.
My first hand experience for the street was the low priced, low function Phantom Grip that did didn't do much when new and doesn't do anything now after about 25,000 miles and probably hasn't had much if any effect for the last 10-15,000.

Well the opm or clutch type lsd's don't work that good for the street simply because they will wear out fast. They are great for race cars.....I used the first opm diff I got for 18 race weekends, plus countless test days before I had it rebuilt. It was still working on the 18th race weekend, but I could feel it slipping a little bit and figured it was time to rebuild. I'm not saying they wouldn't work for street, you would just wear it out faster. If you want a diff for the street use the Quaife. It might cost a little up front, but it will be trouble free for the life of your car......just my two cents
