Help me diagnose my trannie problem !!!
FYI, I have a 2001 R with only 12,000 miles on it.
Ok, here's the situation and the steps leading to the problem:
1) I'm at a dead stop with the car running, applying no pressure to the gas pedal.
2) I push the clutch down all the way.
3) I put the car in first gear.
4) I then put the car back into neutral, all the while still holding the clutch all the way down.
5) I then release the clutch and as soon as the pedal gets near the top, it makes a "click" sound, very distinctive.
The "click" noise is the problem. It certainly can't be normal. It sounds like it's coming from the engine bay and I can also "feel" it when I release the clutch. As soon as it makes the click noise, I feel a tiny vibration in the pedal.
Anybody have an idea what's going on, and will this problem warrant a trip to the ol' service department?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks guys!

Yea I had that too, and symptoms eventually worsened. I think that is the spring seat on your pressure plate moving. Eventually on my car (stock pp & clutch) the clutch would not disengage all the way, just a little, so i would actually creep a little with the clutch all the way down. There's my guess.
I sent my R in to had them looked at it but the dealer said its normal. In fact, you can reproduce it without doing (2) and (4).
Its more noticeable on mine in a hot hot day having the car sun bathed for several hours.
At least, its in their book in case anything comes up.
