Default itr tranny vs. cams and valvetrain

ht members help me decide should i A) get an itr tranny, lightend flywheel, and use the clutch i have right now (act stage 1) or B)get some skunk2 stage2 cams and valvesprings and retainers, a 2 ply headgasket (maybe spoon?), and hondata itm gasket

current set up:
eh hatch w/b18c1
jdm itr pistons
jdm itr cams and valvetrain
skunk2 itm
itr 3 inch cai
AN-R header
aem cam gears
VAFCII
chipped p28 (mugen copy)

compression is at about 11.3:1, and with a 2 ply gasket ited be around 11.6

hook me up with your itr cams if you get the skunk2 cams for a good price. as long as you have the one that have the same specs as the ctr cams

without doubt, get the tranny... hp will increase with those other mods, but the transmission will be the link to accelerating faster.

i would get your current setup tuned

or maybe sell your current ecu setup for a hondata system

you have a pretty good well rounded setup

The cool thing with the tranny is that it doesnt effect your reliability

its also alot funner to drive if you have lower gearing and a LSD

I would go with the itr tranny and maybe get a jdm fd

do a search on the ats fd or jdm fd

they are very worth mods

heres a good opinion

i wouldnt go ligheter than the itr flywheel imho

alot of people forget about the transmission, the piece that puts the power to the ground, i would get the tranny, then worry about the mods later.

Gearing, to me, is a very important. Lightweight flywheel and OD wheels is important too. A 4.7FD with ITR gears will work alot of cars;; with that setup you have.

Just my $.02 cents.

GET THE TRANNY!!! Well if possible. They are going to be very hard to come by (they are now). So if it is available I would grab it ASAP. You will always be able to find a valve train and cams. Good Luck!!

Open diferentials suck, get the nicely geared tranny with an LSD, and then save and get your internals.

it's funny how this thread only has people who believe you should get the tranny posting...

all the other people who voted for the engine mods didn't even bother to speak up...

hope that makes ur decision easier.
