Default Clutch bypass for remote start on a 5spd DID Search check out what i found

well i did a search and found 2 topic's that helped me

1) basically said to take a switch and hook it up to the 2 wires on the clutch switch nad flip it ON when i wanna remote start it and flip it OFF when i dont .. ** i dont like this because i have to know in advance if i am gonna remote start the car or not **

2) said to use relays'.. the relay method is a GREAT idea but.. u can start the car w/ out pressing the clutch which is what i DONT wanna doo!!

basically i wanna be able to remote start my 5spd w/ out fliping any switch (basically using relays) .. I DONT wanna be able to TURN THE KEY and start the car.. i wanna keep it like factory where u have to press the clutch and then turn the key to start the car.. but at the same time if i hit the button to remote start i wanna be able to do that.. (( i already have a safty switch on the car that i cant make the car NOT START if i accidently press the remote start)) i just wanna be able to remote start it w/ the remote .. but if i get in the car, i have to press the clutch in to start the car..

any idea on how i have to set the relays up to do this.. thanx

Obviously you didnt' search well enough. You can use the relay method and still have the clutch switch function normally when you try to start it with the key. remember, a relay is nothing more than a switch, but instead of flicking it with your finger, a coil does the job.

use a relay from the crank wire comming out of the remote start to energise a relay and connect the relay's negative output to the clutch wire. that way you wont have any problems with your cruise control ar factory clutch switch.

Non of the searchs that i found for "clutch" "clutch relay" "clutch bypass" or "bypass" came up w/ anything remotely close to what i was saying... Maybe instead of trying to scold me for something i "OBVIOUSLY" did do, why not try to search for urself 1st and help me out some bro!

heh, I wasn't trying to scold. It's just I did a write up on this in Honda-tech here a while ago. It's the same thing I did to my car.

The easiest way... take pin 30 and hook it to one of the wires in the clutch switch. Take pin 87 and hook it to the other. Connect pin 85 to +12 or an ignition (not Accessory) wire, and pin 86 goes to the STATUS OUTPUT (as DEI refers to it). On DEI remote starts it's a blue wire. It shows ground when the remote start is activated, and is the same wire you'd use to run the immobilizer bypass units.

as a side note, I Know the preludes have two switchs on the clutch, One disenguages and enguages when the clutch pedal is barely pushed in and let out fully. The other switch operates when the clutch pedal is all the way to the floor or when you start to let it up off the floor. You need the second switch.

okay cool bro thanx for helping.. i am gonna try out ur set up and get back to you!! i got help from a diff guy on a diff board and this is what he told me to do terminal 30+85 need to have a constant 12+
terminal 86 gets it's trigger from the ground when armed ouput (Orange on the primary harness) terminal 87 t's onto the blk grn (clutch switch) ignore 87a

basically i did this and it worked, but when ever i pressed the clutch down the car would start to crank lol .. So i hope ur way works thanx again

btw yes i have 2 switches on my clutch 1 is for the clutch (it's located on the side) and the other one (located on top) is for cruise control

What they told you is incorrect. Why would you want to use the ground when armed output? That means any time you try to remote start your car and it's not armed the clutch bypass won't work. That means your car won't start.

It's also easier just to tag 30 to one side of the switch and 87 to the other, because then you never have to worry about putting +12 to something that needs a ground or vise versa... you're only going to connect the wires just as the clutch switch its self would.

Using the status output is the proper thing, because this wire only shows ground when the remote start is activated. This way the only time the clutch is bypassed is when it needs to be.

sweet, thank you bro it worked.. at 1st i hooked it up to the BLUE wire on the 12 pin Primary Harness, but that wasnt the right wire because that wire is for
(-) Multiplexe input, Zone 4

So i went looking for the install manual and and found the * Blue wire (-) Status/Factory Security Remarm ouput* and that's on the Remote start harness. and it started right up! thank you again for you time and help bro

any suggestions on how to hook up the DEFROST to turn on when remote start the car
