Default Is it worth it?

Hey, i am new to this forum, but have a simple question.

I have recently stumbled upon a, what seems to be, first generation accord 5 speed. I have the opportunity to have the car given to me, but i want to make sure it is worth it, before i have this thing hauled back to my place.

It, as stated before, seems to be a first generation accord (i arrived at this because of research done) that seems to be in decent shape. I am not sure if the car is running, because there is no key, to my knowledge, yet. I know that the car has been ran recently, because there is a new oil filter on it, a new distributor cap, the interior lights still work, and there seems to have been normal maintenance on the engine.

I want to know what everyone's opinion is. Like i said, the car is FREE, but i want to make sure i am not going to have a pile of crap sitting in my driveway.

I do agree, but i just wanted to make sure i dont have a chunk of nothing sitting around taking up space.

While on the subject, what is everyone's opinions about first gens?

Keep in mind, i dont have much knowledge of honda's at all, especially specifics. This car seemed to inspire me to try to make something out of it. Just doing some poking around with the idea

Yes, suprisingly enough, it is in DECENT shape.

The body could use a little work, which is no problem. Like i said earlier, the engine SEEMS to have been kept up well. I will know more tomm. about the car, and whether or not i can pick i up for sure.

Anything else interesting or worth having about these cars?

Yeah, i figured it would be fun for something to experiment around on.

Those engines, i believe it has the 1800cc.......worth anything? I dont mean value wise, i mean do they hold up ok?
