Default Xbox in car what inverter

ok i have my xbox modded with 850 albums on it Xbox media centre its all hooked up and in the boot lcd screen in front

the thing is i had to get a inverter for the box to work from 12v to 230v ( aussie) there are two types modified square wave inverter and pure sine wave inverter

400 Watt square is = 150 ( Aus dollars )
300 watt Sine wave = 320 ( Aus dollars )

they guy at the store was pushing the pure sine wave saying it would be better and i would get longer life out of the xbox power supply well as a xbox isnt that much i thought save the money get a square wave inverter

it works i was using it for a week no probs now it doesnt seem to work but the xbox is ok inverter turn on but now power dud ?? or should i exchange for sine ?

my question is anyone have any experiance with this sort of stuff all new to me

whichever produces the cleanest power is the best bet... the power a car generates isn't very uniform.

Neither, get a DC-DC ATX power supply.

I just got my inverter and xbox installed at a pro shop. I wanted it hooked to the battery is because I heard that was better. But they tapped into some wire or wired it to the fusebox somehow is that ok? Does that do just the same thing. Because at first I had interference but I moved some wires around and taped up some wire on the back of the HU and now its fine. Anyone know the answer to my question?
