do i really have to buy the intake kit that comes with the icebox. could i use my stock itr intake arm. will it fit directly to the icebox? any hp diferences. will a kandn drop in filter fit this setup?

no.. it will work with stock intake arm.. and you can use direct fit air filters, k&n, comptech foam filter and oem replacement paper filters.

 

is it better to go with my stock intake with k&n drop in, or go with the icebox.

 

I would go with the Icebox and Comptech filter .I just bought both and installed them on my R about 2 weeks ago and I like the setup very well.It is still quiet like the stock airbox.
