anybody ever stip the drain plug threads in your oil pan?
I did...tried putting in a magnetic drain plug that i was told would fit...
it went in super easy, but just kept on turning and turning...took it out and found nice little shreds of metal in the threads...
do i need to replace my entire oil pan now? it IS leaking oil from the stock plug after replacing it.
would i be able to rethread it?

you need to get tap wrench and go up one size find out [by using your original plug]from a hardware store the size and pitch and then go up one size plug drilling in a tap using a tap wrench. it should be pretty easy being that the pan is aluminum.always use a crush washer when repaling plug.to be safe just tighten til tight don't gie it that extra 2 more cranks .
but check a day or so later for leaks if any tighten a little crank more

the cheapest way to fix this is use a Legend bolt it has 3 more threads unlike the B series bolts. The 3 extra threads will catch more of the threads unlike the stock bolt. Try it, it cost my about $5 to fix it.
