I had to take my tint off my old car
.... the best possible way to do it is to get a razor blade and just sit down and start peeling it off, start on top and work your way down, its a bitch... after you get all the tint off (which takes a longgggggg time), you need to scrub and scrub and scrub all of the glue off, just to take tint off 2 windows took me 3 hours.. i dont know how fast it takes other people but either way it takes awhile..
I just recently got pulled over in my civic and i got a 77 dollar fine for having tinted windows.. he never told me to take it off though....good luck

Use ammonia or a product that is designed to help remove the tint (usually available at places such as Pep Boys). Usually, once you peel the film off, there will be adhesive left on the window. The products mentioned above will help dissolve and remove this adhesive.

what really makes it easy is if you take a razor and slit the tint vertically in about 2 inch strips, then soak it w ammonia or any other solvent by cuting the strips it allows more penetration of the solvents and it comes off pretty easily in nice clean strips

Its a bitch. I got an 85 dollar fine, so i decided to take mine off cuz officer poopy pants told me to. The actual tint itself doesn't take long, its the glue thats the bitch. The tint should just rip right off, but then, if you touch it, you can see the clear film of glue, and you should DEFINITELY be able to smell it. I just got a bottle of windex and started scrubbing away, the residue actually looks like boogers, and it will get all over you. Be sure to set aside a good two hours if you're doing all your windows.
