i/h/e question
hi names ricky (newb) i recently received a 93 accord ex (140 hp/tq??)
and wanted to ask a couple of ?'s
i wanted to pep my car up a bit so im going with an i/h/e first
ive deceided to go with a
- dc sports 4-2-1 header
- aem v2 cold air induct
- k & n fipk
- borla/flowmaster cat back ( no fart cans..thankxx
)
question on the header ..whats better to last longer
a ceramic coated or stainless steel chrome plated header?
does anyone make an underdrive pulley for my car?
and finally a guestimate on how much hp/tq. with these mods?
id appreciate any advice , thankx-ricky!

I prefer ceramic.

Not worth it, IMO.

Around 8-15.
What are your future plans?.....Motor swap?.....NA build?.....FI?.....HP you want to get to?
Don't dump the $ into your car untill you know your final plans.

im not tryin to do nothing thats gonna break intomy main cashflow..no forced induction or nitrous..just cant stand to be dead stock and slow.this is my d.d. so i cant afford to blow somthing up.
i would consider an engine swap after this motor keels over..whats a good motor to swap in my car?
id like to see around 200 ish hp
im a v8 man by nature but i was pretty impressed by the awesome top end pull of the accord...totally different from my t/a it has tons of low end (450ish), but hardley no top end.

H22 ideal swap for 200hp, with bolt-ons (i/h/e).
H23 great swap, 160hp.....but with more torque than H22.
If plan to swap later on then, I'd recommend saving the header money, casue your F series header will not fit on a H series motor.
I'd also recommend a cheaper intake system. Get some 15-30 eBay intake (short or CAI). Wait till the H22 comes along, then spend the $.
BTW, if you treat a F22 right, you'll get 300,000, if not more miles on it. The longer it last the more $ you can save. Your stock motor as a little 'get up and go' to it.
I've got the same motor. Running cheap short ram intake and custom 2 1/4 exhaust.

I guess I'll call in sick to work today. I don't feel like learning anything else for the day.
BTW, thanks for the correction.

actually the h22a has more HP AND torque than the h23, if you consider the JDM h22a. def save up up your money for the h22a swap when it blows because although those bolt ons will make your car get up and go a lil faster, it wont be significant. the h22a will def show you what adding "performance parts" to a honda can do tho. those things make accords haul ***, literally

I've race, as driver, in a 91 Accord w/ H23....and beaten a 92/93 Accord w/ H22 at S.I.R. before. We took 4 trips down the 1/4 mile. I won all 4 races. The guy wouldn't even talk to me. LOL.

When you say this most of us will expect some more explanation like was the car you raced heavier or did it have a new driver or what cause this is not just something you say and don't get asked about.

91 Accord vs 92/93 Accord - I don't which year of 92/93 he had. Both sedan, full interior. I only know his was a 92/93 cause his tail lights were different.

Older guy. Late 20's - early 30's. Never heard a mis-shift. First 3 races were aroud 1.1-1.3 seconds in difference. The last race was 2.3 seconds. I assume the last race his screwed up somewhere. If I can find the slips I'll post them. He seemed like he knew what he was doing, but then again, he never would talk to me.
BTW, I'm 'anti JDM'. I'd rather have a US spec motor and lose 5hp.
