Del Sol Brakes
Currently I have been running Cobalt ITR Spec B pads in the front with Axxis ultimate pads in the rear. I just ran out of front pads again and was considering trying another companies pads. Does anyone have any recommendations on another good set up for a Del Sol? Just kind of interested in exploring some other options!!
Also, has anyone ever successfully fit 225 50 15 Toyos on a Del Sol. I only have a couple races worth left on my 205's and was wondering if maybe I could squeze a set in.

Running the same pads in the rear as front or doing something similar to the spec B/Ultimate set up? Has anyone ever tried more of an aggressive compound on H4 cars??

I think it's the extra 500 lbs you're carrying around
I have a set of the XP's with at least a weekend left on them if you want to give them a try. They're the same ones I offered as a backup if your Cobalts didn't last through AS. I'll have them at PIR in May.
-travis, who can't kill his Cobalts

Has anyone running the cobalt spec b's ever experienced a "mushy" pedal feeling with them? When I run them I have a mushy pedal and then I switch back to my street pads and I don't. It made absolutely no sense to me. I thought I was crazy. Then a friend of mine read on Bimmer forums someone saying the same exact thing with Cobalt pads. Has any one else experienced this or do only two people in the world have brakes that are physics defying?

I had this problem with them on my 91 integra.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I have had the same thing with a couple of sets of these pads.. They all seem to do the same thing new or broken in. That is why I was contemplating giving another company a try.

Danny,
I have never run cobalts, but I have experienced 'mushy' pedal with other pads. I tried Hawk HPS on the street (and stupidly, on the track at brake-heavy AMP) and the pedal feel was decidedly mushier than a set of Pep Boys Raybestos street pads. I didn't believe that the pad could have anything to do with how the pedal felt, till I talked with Tim at Porterfield, who explained that the composition and condition of the pad affected the initial "bite" of the brakes, which can definitely lead to a softer or harder pedal feel.
Personally, I'm running Porterfield R4's, and I love them, but at $170 a set, I'd like to find something a little more economical. I think I'll try Panthers, Cobalts, and Hawk Blues next. Still running stock street pads in the back, with no problems of instability while braking.
