Seems like you got heavier rims... Typically heavier/bigger rims will cause your gas mileage go to ****...

The oil thing.. i have no idea... Bad piston rings? Bad seal?

bigger rims shouldnt kick your gas mileage bad, some but not bad.

what rims that you got? rotational mass is a bit-h

the oil have nothing to do with the rims/wheels

well i got a lighter rim than what i used to have, 17"
i went from 195-65-15 to 215-45-17

as for the oil, i change the oil every 3 months, (about every 1000 miles)
car dont smoke & dont idle above 800rpm

but i do have a bad exhaust leak

how do u know if the piston rings are going bad ??

New exhaust. Recommend custom after I just got mine. Universal muffler, piping, and labor cost me $250 out the door.

Compression test, I think?

The PSI in your tires can also change your gas milegae. Be sure to have the proper inflation.

Car does not leak oil or smoke.

As for tire air pressure, its good

And that new exhaust will help out your mpg too (back pressure) and a complete system. You should be happy with your choice, how much did it run you?

As for your mpg, check your spark plugs, air filter, plug wires, dizzy. You may also want to run some bg44K through your system too

do you mean the rim weighs less?

Even if it weighs less on a scale, it will weigh more on your car due to physics.

Also, the wider tire will decrease your gas mileage.

no smart ***, but the bigger the diameter of the wheel, the more rotational inertia it creates. You would be the last guy I would expect to hear a question like that from. Also, we could get into sprung v. unsprung weight.

If you test the acceleration of a car with a set of 15" wheels, and then with a set of 17" wheels that weight the same as the 15" wheels, the acceleration will be quicker with the 15"s. Damn Willie, I am getting worried about you.
