VAFC anyone using it with an LS brain?

VAFC anyone using it with an LS brain?
I searched and all i got was "VAFC FS" so i hope this isnt a repost and if it is im sorry, Well just wanted to know if you guys out here ever used the vafc without a vtec ecu, and i was wondering if you can wire it up directly to the selonoid and control vtec function from the vafc itself! any help would greatly be appreciated! im just curious because my buddys got a good LS ecu and has no rev-limit on that, and instead of buying a ecu he wants to just run the vafc!

From my knowledge, no, you cannot use a non-vtec ECU. Reason being that the VAFC needs a base map to run off of. All it does is modify the map you are currently using to whatever you have it set to, so yes, a VTEC ECU is needed for your VAFC to have a fuel map etc. to modify.
