Default ( newbi ) Accord 00 H22a swap ???

hi guys

this is my first topic in this forum ..

i have :

Honda Accord 2000 model , manual , stock eng ( none VTEC )

i would like to change my eng to make it fast .

i want to use it for daily driving.

so which eng is good for me ??

also i am planing to turbo my eng after i collect some money may be 6-7 months.

i am thinking of getting H22a or B18C5 ...

please if you have any sites can help me with my 6th gen accord give it to me.

i don't want any F series eng cause i want a strong eng cause 6th gen accord is very heavy. and if the H series have any problem with Turbo tel me please..

i have used the search option but there is nothing much about 6th gen.

thanks alot ..........

The b18c5 wont fit. The h22 will with modification. But i would just boost your motor being its a 2000.

h22 in a 00 isnt gonna be fast, those things are heavy. you'd be better off to turbo the f23. you'd make more power and torque about the same money.

thanks for reply guys ..

OK can u just be more specefic !

if i take the f23 and turbo it will it be last with me for along time ??

i really like the h22a and in the future i will boost it a little bit.

as i said before it will be for daily driving its the only car i have.

what is the extra weight i will get if i go with h22a over f23 ??

why there is a few people with 6th gen accord ??

any advices are welcome..

you can turbo the f23 with low mileage for a long time as long as you dont over do the boost. run 8 - 10 psi daily and you will be fine, preferably 8 psi. you will last long enough and you dont have to worry about rebuilding the internals at all. the f series engine is a very strong engine when it comes to internals and you cant go wrong with it when turboing (unless you try pushing 30 psi through it ) the h22 would be perfect for boosting in that heavy accord ONLY if you rebuilt the engine to take boost. but the better decision is to just boost the f series and you will be plenty happy with it

^the H22 can take boost on stock internals about 8-10psi for a daily driver, it's all about the tuning. i agree though the F23 is the best route to go for a 6th gen since it's cheaper and the tuning is easier due to the lower compression which should also make it a tad more reliable.

thanks guys ....

i forgot to tel you i am from the middle-east and we have a japanes market.

so i think going with H22a is cheaper than boosting the F23. am i right ??

i can get the h22a eng for 670$ ~ 750$ .

or you can get a half car with every thing : eng , gear and comp ....... for just like 800$

my current eng is F23A6 ( none VTEC )

are you sure guys that B18C5 doesn't fit in my accord ?? because i think it's less heavy.

thanks .......

u can get an h22a for $670?????.....USDM ones here are still like 2K+ from junkyards.......my god......by the way, b18c5 is an awesome engine, but it produces very little torque, and you need torque to move the accord (alot heavier than an integra/civic)

turbo f23.....then take lots of pictures

we have a very very big used car, eng city.

and very very cheap. you can find H22a every where and very cheap. and they are JDM version. and some times you will find some boosted motors.

also here in U.A.E you can drive a right hand car with out any problem with police.

so most of the eng here are stolen from japan.

[QUOTE=matix]i hate you... damn you and ur location! damn u to hell! QUOTE]

come in my country and take any eng you want LoooooL.

so guys i think i have the green light to swap a H22a !! ??

boosting and turbo stuff are very expensive here .

sooon i will post some pictures.

any way check out my audio system ( damn it's very very heavy more than 100KG in the trunk )

thanks ........

Could'nt he just put the 3.0L V6 in it? That would seem to be the smart move to me...

it would be easier to drop an H22 in than a the J30 3.0 V6. since his car is a 4 banger the mounts and wiring are similar to the H22. the V6 one will need some custom mounting and when you can just go out buy a 3.0 V6 equipped accord and the fact that it's also an automatic and you can't use the 4 banger 5sp on it either, it's not worth the hassel.

your best bet on tha 6th gen is turbo or trade it in for something faster. imo, after dropping alot of money on a H22 swap and 5sp conversion 2yrs i would just get a faster car to begin with.

if you decide on the h22a and you're not gonna boost it, then get the Type S, you'll get 220 instead of the stock 200. But if you do plan on boost in the future then stick with the regular H22a. just my $.02
