Opinions on my painted bumper
please disregard the excessive amount of fuel deposits on my bumper...but what do yall think of the inter peice of plastic being painted...Im kinda undecided but the more I look at it the more cleaner the car looks.
IMO it just looks very unprofessional. I like things to look factory, and that doesn't.
I like having to guess whether or not something has been repsrayed, painting grills and other parts that aren't mean to be painted gives it away.

actually the paint matches up really nice, I dont know why it looks like that in the pic.
on the other hand...I didnt ask the guy to paint it, but it ended up that way. Yeah, he was just being lazy. You think I could just tape it off and take it off with some paint thinner or something?

I second that......The paint matches quite well!
When they painted my front Jdm bumper, they painted the whole bumper including the grill. Later that week, I masked the bumper and painted the grill black. Looks Factory!

make sure the guy knows how to properly mask off when he repaints the piece black, otherwise you might end up with something like this:

I say bring it back to the shop and ask them to fix it. How much did you pay for this anyway?

I feel ya... it took the body shop 3 months to get the correct rear bumper for my car, and another 2 months to paint it
Does Georgia have a consumer right's department for automotive repairs? Here in California, we have BAR- the Bureau of Automotive Repair. If you guys do, file a complaint with them. Hopefully they can get things resolved with the shop (either they refund some of your money, fix it the right way, or pay for it to get fixed at another shop)
The Better Business Bureau, in my opinion, doesn't do anything for you. You can file a complaint with them too.
As far as what paint to use, there's paint out there made specifically for bumper and trim pieces. I forget where exactly I saw it, but there were some posts over in Appearance/Cosmetic where guys were painting their Type-R and CTR lips black with this trim paint to match their OEM plastic sides.

i just got 98+ front and rear bumpers for my car and i had some guy paint them for 250$ i guess he owns a shop but when he brought them back over they looked like TOTAL ****. luckly my car is black so the grill and that dont really matter.
anyways after about 1 week and 2 car washes later the clear coat was comming off and the bumper had tons of chip marks so i took them off and had him take them back to his shop.
its bin about 3 weeks and i still dont have them back
.
he clames his shop does not have a "booth" to paint in and he will be renting 1 this weekend. i jsut hope the come out nice looking. i know they wont really match my car since my stock paint job is 9 years old.
