Default What I Need for a turbo

I am thinking about possibly putting a turbo on my H23 Prelude, I have about $1500 pluss probs, 500 more commin in by the timethe turbo would actaully be complete. Is this enough money to even try, my friend heloing me says he can turbo any car for $1100 but that obviously isnt going to go to well. I guess what I want to know is what exactly do you need for a custom turbo set up. Other then

Turbo (I think im going T25)

Turbo Manifold (Where can I get an H23 Mani)

Front Mount Intercooler (Is it better to have one thats small vertical and long horizontal, or the other way around?

Downpipe

Intercooler Piping

Do I need a BOV from the start? Do I need new injectors right away? Turbo Timer? Map Sensor? New ECU?

And is there anything else you NEED or recomend for this ****. Thanks for any help and I know this has probably been talked about amillion times, but its jsut more easy this way

If you need to be asking these questions, your prolly not ready for one. do what I did, reaseach, seach here, honda-tech, there's tons of info.

a bov is a good idea
the key for intercoolers is the right airflow, inlet the lower right, outlet on the upper left, so the air has to pass by the whole intercooler
how much psi do you want.. anything over 6psi(correct me if i'm wrong) won't work unless you build-up you engine.
you forget oil lines etc.

if it were me, I would save up some more money and do it right, make sure you have good fuel managment...AEM...Hondata

Check out www.cse.uconn.edu/~yelevich/turbo/turbo.com it's a good start
Good luck

You need the following parts for a basic turbo kit:

turbo exhaust manifold
Turbo
Wastegate
Intercooler
blow-off valve
Intercooler piping
downpipe
High pressure/High volume inline fuel pump
Boost dependent FMU fuel regulator
Map sensor bypass valves
Stainless steel braided oil feed line w/ fittings
Oil return assembly
Misc. hardware and fittings
Silicone hose and hose clamps
Misc. gaskets

As for the turbo, a t25 is way to small on a h23a motor. Run a t3/t04e turbo with a 50 comp and .48a/r t3 housing. If you want, a .57comp trim will yield a bit more power but I would stick with a .48 a/r on the exhaust.

I have a barely used drag gen 2 turbo manifold for sale AND an inline fuel pump which I used on my old set-up. Drop me an email at turbopreludesi@aol.com if you are interested.
