B & M short shifter?
Does anyone know if the B&M Pro Edge Shifter is any good? Along with The B&M Edge Shifter Stabilizer System? Is this a better setup than the DC short shift with Energy Suspension Stabilizer Bushing? How does the B&M setup feel, will I still somtimes grind 1st to 2nd when I shift really hard?
hey u'r right my b&M rattles...but i like th throws... i probably forgot a bolt....
on the real though i got mah B&M shifter for $45 and it was hella worth it so much more resposive i also set up the energy suspension bushings w/ it
it's a pretty easy install and i highly recomend it...for the price that is... ibet there's other better shifters out there...but yeah i would get it....wait ...i do have it....

Do you have the normal B&M or the Ripper with that pivot lookin thingy around the center point? What about the aluminum shift kit they make?

I've had my B&M Edge shifter for a while now. It used to rattle all the time, so on occasion I'd tighten the bolt that connects the shifter, change rod, and extension REALLY tight. The rattle would be gone, but the shifts got harder. After a while, the rattles went away and it shifted smoother and I don't know how; though sometimes I feel it bounce off my exhaust piping when going over bumps.
With the aluminum B&M bushings, you can adjust the shifter position closer (stock position), same place it is when installed without the bushings, and even further. I think you can also change the neutral position to the left instead of the center.

I think that the B&M Pro Edge shifter was probably one of the best mods I've done so far. It was certainly one of the most noticeable from the drivers' seat.
The service manager at Clinton Acrua, who is a really good guy by the way, drove it with the kit in, and said the car should have come from the factory that way!
PS- It used to rattle, because it vibrates a little more than stock, and the **** rattles against the threads. A little bit of plumbers' pipe sealer (the stuff that stays soft) pretty much got rid of that.

I have a B&M short shifter and mine does rattle. I don't have the stabilizer kit on it though. Mine seems to rattle when I hit a certain RPM or about 85-90 MPH when I'm cruising. I think I read somebody post here that putting a lot of grease on the ball part of it makes it go away.
