You should look up Blacktrax in Milpitas
http://www.blacktrax.net
One of the ladies that works at the shop there is a member on http://www.preludeonline.com You should also check out po.com because they have a NA section specifically for the H22. I'm sure the guys over there can help you out with your engine questions. You do have to pay a paypal fee of $6 a year, but it's worth it.

I would send out your head to someone. Take your pic, if you are just doing a valve job and light p&p then shouldnt make a huge diff in who you go with
for getting it sleeved, do your research. there are alot of good places out there, and some bad ones.
its most likely best to have a pro install the sleeves. not someone that only started doing it recently. it definetly is an art and take knowledge and practice to get it done correct.
i personally had a bad experience with lawrence @ dsr. but i think he is a good guy and usually does good work.
just do your research and plan ahead when doing the project.

What happened? I ask because a friend was referred to go to him.

RedZone (408)998-5590 Redzoneperformance.com They are great guys and do great work. Seing a daily drivable 5th gen hatch with moast of it's interior run a 12.20 at cmi says it all for me. I watched Brandon build that motor including porting it and dynoing it. Check them out!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the timing belt was installed wrong. i think it was the exhaust cam gear was off one notch.
since i didnt know how to install timing belts at the time. i had to waste half a day getting the car towed down and waiting (the shop was busy) for him to fix it then drive it back home. i do live about an hour away from the shop, so thats not his fault. but its a pain to have to go through that when it was his fault and could have lead to a bunch of bent valves. but i just had itr cams with jdm itr pistons
forgot to give me back the timing belt side mount. the thing that mounts to the block. so when i picked it up on friday, i couldnt drive the car till monday cause I had to wait for him to give me the mount
the long block sat at the shop for 2-3 weeks before anything happended. then lawrence told me he was waiting for ME to drop off the pistons/rods but i still dont understand why he was waiting for me to give him parts when the engine wasnt even torn apart.
it was 500 dollars over what he quoted me. i asked him if it was going to go over what he quoted maybe 2-3 weeks before it was done. then when I go to pick up the engine its 500 more and I never had any idea that was going to happen
if i left a message on the answering machine at the shop i would never get a call back. when the head was at portflow (dsr sends their heads to portflow) tom asked what size valves i wanted. instead of lawrence caling me about it, he waited however long, and waited till i called in then asked me. like: "oh hey rob, glad you callled. btw tom wants to know what size valves you want"
I asked him if hondata can do partial-throttle tuning and he said to my face "nope"
but my buddy chris and austin have both had good experiences with dsr. and i dont think im a punk-*** customer who is a pain in the ****
in my mind there are more reputable places out there besides dsr.
i would rather send it to so cal to have the work done

Wow. Sorry to hear about that mishap at DSR.
I would much rather have my friend come down to socal and have his car tuned by Jeff, Jerry, or Shawn at Church Automotive.
However, he does reside and work in Norcal and would be a pain for him time wise to come down.
Thanks for the heads up though.
I'll relay this experience to them.

Another vote for redzone. Jeremy's a good guy and has been doing imports for quite some time. Good prices, open atmosphere(you can damn near help him wrench on your car). Little less proffessional than I'd like but you can't deny the quality. Had him tear down my head, P&P and reinstall new cams and gear. Took him a little less than a week and it came out great. Check out Blacktrax too. THey've got some crazy projects going on all the time. Can't go wronh with either.

Yes you are right back then it was too open of an atmosphere, that is why I put a stop to it. We pride ourselves on great customer service and do not want the customer feeling he doesn't belong there....hence our open atmosphere.....but we want to make sure that you feel you are at a professional shop.....well as professional as we can be with out making you feel like you don't belong. We will make sure to greet you when you walk in the door and make sure we answer every question you have to the best of our ability. Sometimes we are really busy taking care of the projects that are on our plate but we will still make sure that you are taken care of.
Thank you to everybody for the recommendations. How the car going Racerzook? saw you on the freeway about a month ago......still looking good.

Bob is the only person that I've heard have any sort of problems with DSR, it just happens that he's also quite vocal with his thoughts. I haven't spoken with Lawrence at DSR on what happened, so I haven't heard both sides of the story.
I trust Lawrence wholeheartedly, he will be the one to rebuild my itr motor when needed, as well as the motor in my CRX.

The fact that Lawrence and DSR has been in the industry for so long and has stayed OFF the internet and never attempts to boast, promote, or brag says enough of the customer base and quality of the work. Only willing customers promote and spread DSR on the net.
Myself personally has had great results from DSR in all of my record projects.
Customers post about BAD shops, I would like to see shops post about BAD customers...

I'm sure if you pay for the dyno they will get one!!!!!!!! For now chris at advanced has one that they use. advanced is close to them a few blocks away. If you want a shop that cares about you and not your money REDZONE is the place to go. I see them bend over backwards for there customers. Shoot they have done a ton for me and i'm just some kid off the street.
dave of dnr performance cus he will not stop till your car has the proper power that you and he want for it and he is very detailed when it comes to assembling the engine i vouch for him

i too vouch for DSR...
HOWEVER,
one time when i had my skunk2 itm installed (lawrence started it but had to leave...dick finished it up for me the next day),
the fuel line was not "crimped" in properly...
my friend found the loose connection when we were changing the itm butterfly valve.
good thing the fuel line didnt open up.
but yeah,
major props to DSR nonetheless.
i take my bimmer to dsr and trust them more than
most of the other "tuner" shops

i woudl take my car to DSR or redzone. if you;'re lookin for that professional atmopshere where its strickly business go to DSR. lawrence tunes all my cars and does a great job. honest guys that will tell you their honest opinion on what should be done.
however jermy at redzone has been in the game for a long time, plus he does very quality work. the shop may not look very snazzy but inside the job and the job that jermy puts down is all business, all the set ups are cleanly done and done right. on top of that he does his **** quick and doesnt lag like many people i see.
give him a call. he'll do ya up right. !
the amount of vouches u see on this post shoudl speak for his work by itself.
