Default Warped head? Bad rings? Faulty sensor? HELP!

I've got some symptoms I'd like to run by you guys before I have my car diagnosed. For the last couple of months I've noticed that my temps will get high then go back to normal and so on. It mostly does this when I'm not moving. I run 50/50 coolant to water. I check my oil frequently, I haven't lost oil and it looks very light. Usually in an overheating situation oil gets real dark from what I've seen in the past. I have a new radiator with a new water pump. The other night I raced a car on the freeway and my friends said I had a **** load of smoke come out of my exhaust when I accelerated, as well as a nasty odor which smelled like coolent, but not sure. So I'm not sure if I have a worn head gasket, bad rings, or a warped head. When I got home, my water was not boiling in my radiator, which leads me to think that I am not truely overheating. My under hood temps didn't seem too hot either. I'm curious to your thoughts. Thanks for your time.

are you looseing coolent? if so i'd say you need a new head gasket, coolent might be leaking into your oil, next time you drain the oil you should be able to tell
