Air Conditioning on '90 CRX. R12-R134 Conversion HELP
Alright I have a '90 CRX, and am wanting to retrofit it so I can charge it w/ R134, I understand the dryer should also be replaced etc.
MY QUESTION THOUGH
I had gone both to AutoZone, and Advance Auto parts, BOTH of which have the same fittings for all their kits..
The high pressure side is fine, but I need a LOW PRESSURE fitting for the retrofit...
The "one size fits all" they have isn't it... anyone who has done one, or can suggest where I could locate one (Elbow preferably, since there isn't much room).
Any other info needed Please ask/post!!!

Only thing I can tell you is that I used that $30.00 kit from them and it worked fine, I didnt need any extra parts. How do I know it worked? Pretty cold air comes out when the A/C is on.
you used the kit on a 90-91 CRX?? The threaded valve for the LOW pressure side is too big in that kit... from both stores... the LOW pressure side ISS the nozzle that is horizontal, facing in towards the engine CORRECT??? Post back ASAP. thanx
Actually I used it on a 89 Civic HB. I completely missed that part but I doubt it matter. The other part, give me a little while and I'll go out side and check.
I filled it up with the top line, the thicker one. I did nothing with the lower line, which is pointing towards the firewall/engine. The top line is pointing towards the sky.

lol, owned yourself
I used one of those kits on my dx, and 3 months later the compressor was kaput, not blaming the kit completely, just bad timing.

well after you replace the compressor, the retrokit STILL works
so it all works out, and you get a new compressor out of the deal!
