Hardtops on a red 01 s2k
Proud new owner of an 01 s2k now and I've already got the vibe of putting all kinds of things on my car.
I see how everybody that has an s2k either has a hardtop or is already in the market for one. Definately the best exterior upgrade you can do for the s2k I can see. I'm up for one now! There isn't a whole lot of s2k's I see, maybe like 5 or 6 and none of them had a hardtop so I can't even say I've even seen one with it. I don't know if its just 01's and under or if its just me, but my pillar bars are black all around (around my windshield), and many other pictures I've seen of red S2k's, their's are red. Anyway, since my was black, I was thinking of picking up a either a black OEM hardtop or having a mugen ht painted all black. For the guys that have seen this before, how does it look? Is it nice?? Pictures anyone? I'm looking to pick one up soon, but I don't wanna be stuck with something that might possibly offset the color of my car being two tone man. I did see a white s2k with an all black mugen ht and it definately fits well together. I searched all over s2ki for a red with black ht btw also. Any pics or ideas would help. Thanks.

Personally I'd get OEM because it has interior lining.

Thanks eddie. I think I'm leaning towards the oem now. Saw some "funny" angles of the mugen. The oem is seamless while that "rear window" looking thing on the mugen just doesn't flow right IMO.

the black in your pillar bar is a black windshield tape. it can be peel off and your red paint is under it. peel it slow to prevent paint damage.
did you see my pics at s2ki??? i got the white S with a black mugen hardtop.
there is also a red S with a black mugen hardtop and pics can be found on s2ki

the Mugen is made to be more aerodynamic which is why alot of full race s2000's run them

found those pics of the red s2k with black mugen ht. LOOKS GREAT.

See that small gap thats starts opening up halfway going downward at the rear of the window and mugen ht? IS it a gap?

that's not a gap, just the lines of the hardtop, it's the style.

I haven't seen a ht in person.. but to me it looks like there's a gap between the window and the mugen ht.. It doesn't look flushed with the window (doesn't look sealed towards the back) correct me if I'm wrong.
on another thought, along the lines of exterior upgrades on nfr s2k's.. What do you guys think about getting the rear trunk lip in black as well?
-my pics were taken from s2ki.com btw
