Default Car kinda, idles ok, then looses rpm and stalls out..

Ok, so I start my car up in the morning or after it's been sitting for a while, it idles around 2100rpm and eventually warms up to around 1000-1100 with an occasional dip to 900rpm. Recently, like within the last week, if I'm not accelerating or reving the engine at all, like at a stop light, it drops to 1100, then seems to struggle and drops to around 800rpm and then stalls out. It starts back up fine.
The only thing I have done recently is re-adjust my valves, they were loose and ticking loudly so they needed to be tightened. The specs given to me from Delta (due to mods in my sig) was int .006 and exh .008, so that's what I set them at. At first it kinda idled rough anyway, heck, its an agressive cam. Before I re-adjusted them to these specs they were around .008 int and .010 exh, but like I said, were loose cuz they ticked loudly.

Is this just an idle adjustment thing or could the valves be a little too tight now? As soon as I can I'm going to try and adjust the idle itself, it just seems that the cold idle is really high already at around 2100rpm. I'd rather have it idle higher than not at all of course, I imagine with this cam it probably needs to idle a little higher anyway.

Any info and ideas are appreciated. I'll check everything I can.
Thanks

Ok, just got back from driving home from an hour away, and I tell ya, it sucked through the city. Grr. Every light I had to restart my car.
Anyway
Another thing I want to add that I've noticed is around 2150-2300 rpm I noticed a peculiar grinding sound, only in that rpm though. It's a metalic grind sound, no clue what it could be. My guess is something clutch/starter area?

Gimme ideas!!!

C'mon. Nobody has any ideas? What happened to the know it all geniuses? Grr.
I just rechecked the valves, they are all within' spec. Tried to adjust the idle but like, the head on the screw is so thin I can get ANY screwdriver to turn it, there's just nowhere for the screwdriver head to fit basically.

That grinding noise is usually when the rpm's drop, but I can put it at like 2200rpm and get it to grind constantly. On at around there, like 2150-2400 rpm does it grind, nowhere else. WTF is up with my car. This is pissing me off so frigging bad I almost broke the windshield so someone please help or else it's going to the junkyard in pieces.

try do basic tune up, fuel filter, injector cleaner, plugs, wires, cap, rotor.

if you got a grinding sound, i would first check your oil level, then the tranny oil level just to make sure. could be your clutch, could be worn out or needs adjusting, does it slip at all ?

Clutch doesn't slip or anything, actually, it's like under 2000miles old. New ACT Prolite flywheel and exedy organic clutch.
The whole dizzy was replaced maybe 500 miles or so ago, Oil, hey, good idea I'll check that, although I did put two quarts in 2 weeks ago. I don't think it's leaking all that bad (small drip around drain plug...very small)

Could it possibly be something with say, my alternator or starter? Not sure how much roll the starter plays after the car is started so I'm leaning toward alternator? I do have a spare one so I might as well try it. Maybe I messed it up when I was playing with the pulley alittle the other day.
Thanks for the response, you always respond to my questions!

yeah could be your alt. i just remembered, i had a problem like that in another car i had, it would run ok then when i came to a stop light it would stall.

my alt was good, turned out to be my alt wire, i ran another wire and its been all good ever since, but i did short out 2 batterys before i figured it out.

not your starter though, starter doesnt do anything after you start the car

Just an update, haven't replaced the alt yet, got lazy yesterday, but I filled up with like 8 gallons of 93 yesterday, and I haven't stalled out at all suprisingly. I new I should be using a little higher octante with my headwork done, but didn't know it was that dependant. No more 87 for me I guess.
