Thinking about getting E36 M3 LW or E30 M3
I am thinking about getting an E36 Light Weight but this would mean I would need to get rid of my current car for a beater. If I get an E36 LW You can expect to see me alot at VIR. I might go with an E30 LW instead though so I can still afford to keep my current car and yet have a track car.

no seriously, E30 M3</TD></TR></TABLE>
I knew he meant e30 m3, just wanted to know about the new light weight version
If you want a unique car don't go with a M3, the LW is not too much different than a standard M3. You could source out the aluminum doors, forged wheels and small interior differences if you wanted. I have seen M3 LW go for 40,000
.
A good E30 m3 is going to run you 15k for a 14+ year old car. Get a bimmer and enjoy it, who cares if there are a good amount of them, there are not a good amount of them used for what they are made for, so there you would be unique!

I was reading on grassroot about depreciation on E36 which is a good thing because now they are very affordable. I might just source all the little parts here and there out. The car is 40k+ I am much better off buying an E36 for 10k-15k. Doing suspension mods and ect.
Thanks and why am I still a trial user?! I've been on here for more then 15 days.
5 of my best friends I went to high school with all have E36 M3. It would be a shame If I got an E36 LW and put miles on it. I would be ruining a rare valueble car.

I have always wanted one they are nice cars. I always thought they were inaffordable. Now in days though you can get them for a very good price. They all are SCCA members and use them for at the track. My 5 best friends having one makes me not want to get one but if I like the car that shouldnt hold me back.

I am in my early 20's. A Tahoe on 24's is nice? Is there any problems with that? I much rather have a nice sports car. In McLean people tend to drive nice cars. Many of my buddies had their M3 when they were seniors but I couldnt afford one. Now due to depreciation I can.

Travis, you're being an *******.
Anyways, E36 M3 is a great bargain for the performance you get. You can get a really solid car for $15K, and if you want I can send you some links on maintenance and common problems. They seem like a pretty hassle free track *****. E30 M3 might be more fun, but it will be more expensive to maintain and slower.

tnord, I think you really need a nap or something.
And yes, M3 depreciation is in full effect. I couldn't sell my 95 for $15k, highest offer was $13k, and it's in amazing condition. And if you meant McLean, VA, yes, M3's are a dime a dozen, I'm one of them
