Portable Air Compressors? Which one?
What should I look for in a 12v portable air compressor? I see that the PSI ranges from like 250 to 300 I think. What Brands are good? and what kind of specs should I look for.
Dont want an air tank event hough it's faster because I don't want to lug that thing around.

If your filling your tires, it doesn't make much difference. If you want to run air tools, which is not likely to work on a 12V system, you will need to look at CFM. Typically the $300 Craftsman ones are pretty good, but they run on 110AC.
I found a 12V compressor at our local "Home Center" for $50! It is battery powered, and works perfectly for Auto-X/Drag tire purposes. At the last auto-X it got passed around from person to person all morning, and still had plenty oof juice left.
It doesn't have a model number on it, but is made by campell hausfield.
(You can use the internal-rechargeable battery as a portable 12V supply as well.)

That appears to be slight overkill for just Auto-X. But if the price is right, and your willing to drag it to the track with you, It would be fine.
Here's what I bought.
(And it works great for charging up the spud-gun too!)

i have the same one as ThePunk. Once your tires are pumped up, you can use this thing for 20+ times to adjust pressures on one charge. I bought it at Home Depot for $40-$50.
