5 Lug CRX?? <--Is this possible?
Well..
I finally got my hands on a set of wheels i've been wanting for a long time. They are 16's TSW VX-1s
Unfortunately they are 1 size too small 16's, and one Lug-nut too many (5).
How can i make my 90 CRX Si (currently 4 lug), into a 5 lug?
Using adapters is out of the question cause i dont want my car to look like a skateboard with the wheels sticking out the side.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Those hubs you're selling, are they 5 lug?? And if so, would they be something i could use to convert my 4-lug CRX into a 5-lug CRX?

not worth it man, sell the rims and buy 4 lug. Less expensive and a 5lug would give even more reason to get stolen
I once say a 5lug on a crx with rsx-s rims in gunmetal. Was ******* dope

No its possible. You just need a wheel adapter, check this outhttp://www.truckn-store.com/product.asp?returnURL=default.asp&ID=58430 . You need one of them for each wheel, that should do the trick.
Cool dude thanks!
I'll check it out and let you know.
"For the record", I did go to a couple of places around town and, like some of you, suggested i'd be better off selling the 5 lug wheels and getting a set of 4 lug.
"I'd also like this to go on the record". "I am a dumb-*** that likes doing things the hard way."
Most of the places i went to, told me it would run me approximately $100 to $150 per wheel !!!!
I nearly choked!
But, my brother-in-law has a friend that will make the adaptors for $100.00 total.

IMO the 5 lug is not worth it at all. Just like everyone else said, sell the rims and buy some nice, light 4 lug rims. Maybe a set of Volks if you must have 17's
do what you want to do.. forget all these dicks out here who hate on people with ideas.. really all you need is to change the wheel hub out to a 5 lug pattern and you should be straight..good luck with it man
this guy is looking for a solution to run the ITR 5 lug brakes. the rotors are larger in diameter and the calipers are bigger by 25% ~ therefore, you will stop faster than the smaller brakes. 5 lug conversion is very simple, don't listen to the peeps that don't have the $$ or time. they never tried it and they are pessimistic. if you want to stop FAST, ITR brakes is the best brakes for the budget.
as far as wheel spacers or adaptor plates, the offset of the wheel is going to be a determinig factor.... i dont recommend going that route. the ITR trailing arm and spindle are set up for the ITR 5 lug rim with 50 offset. this is a perfect combo for the crx... no rolling fenders and nice fender tuck with little neg camber.
this will help get you started:

sorry bro! i don't think that you are going to be able to buy a type R 5 lug conversion at a junk yard. you can start by searching on the internet and also ebay. i found a set of rear ITR 5 lug brake setup on ebay...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...30183
this is your first step in completing the rear brakes. for the most part, the factory rear disc brake cable stays in place (if your CRX has a drum style brake in the rear, you will need to acquire a brake cable for the disc setup). there are several brackets that need to be swapped, and rear brake hose needs to be replaced or modified. i'm currently using the earles SS brake lines in which need to be trimmed about 5 inches. other than that, its a simple bolt on. as far as swapping out the hub itself, it will bolt on nicely, but the camber is either 0 or somewhat on the positive side... not a good idea.
the spindle setup is easy. leave the upper and lower control arms in place and simply bolt the setup on. really no heavy mods for the front setup other than alignment.
good luck brutha!
