Default serious problems--need help

ok guys i have three problems and i am about tired of trying to figure things out so i figured i would ask you guys

99 accord 2dr. v-6

1. after the timing belt change the front end started making noise while turning. a noise like it has air in it. i have changed the power steering pump, water pump, add lucus. i think it might be the rack and pinion but is the any quick fixes to it.

2.the lights are out--the dash and rears--i have traced it down to the wire behind the radio and have it hard wired to stay on cause we had no lights at night but i do not know where to hook it up so that it will work properly.
i have checked all the fuses and installed the factory radio back in and they still don't work. is there a relay i can tie into to correct this problem.

3.today the car won't shift out of park it is like it is stuck. i was thinkin maybe something sticky got into the shifter inside the car but i am not sure. any help here would be appreciated.

Have you checked your suspension? strut/shocks tend to leak sometimes...
vacuum hose check... or loose connection with intake pipe?

when did the lights stop working??? after you installed a aftermarket radio?? or just out of nowhere?? sometimes it could be just as easy as a bad ground.. or loose connection somewhere...

Does the car even start?

1. can you give me some spots to check out. like particalarly saying something like on the top of the rack and pinion you'll see a half inche rubber pipe. that is a vacuum line- make sure it has no leaks. something like that.---cause i am not sure where to start looking on the suspension. i just know that it can be heard in the power steering pump as you turn the steering, i was told the power steering pump has reeds and it sounds like they are whisling, but it is a new pump and it sounds alot better than the other one. i originally thought maybe garbage but it seems to flowing fine but i could be wrong. steering seems fine and smooth and makes the noise sitting still or moving. of course more sitting still than moving.

2.lights happened after i put on EUROs. i put some leds in the middle two trunk lights since the the cover is clear. then shortly after that i had the problem. i put the factory radio back in and the factory lights and still the same problem. i was thinkin a hidden relay somewhere.

3. the car cranks fine. i have to access the lil shift release key hole and it all seems smooth after you get out of park. could it be a spring or a safety device that is suppose to disengage when you put the key in the ignition or touch the brake to shift out of park.

I'm having the same wiring problems with my Acura... but i've narrowed it down to a short somewhere. I keep blowing a 15 amp fuse under the hood. Now begins the fun of finding the short.

i am not sure my problems is a short. i haven't blown any fuses yet. i think it is funny how these companies produce LEDs but cann't answer a simple question on how to correct the resistance. most cars use the sylvania 3157 or one of its close cousins so why don't they make the LEDs have an equivalent resistance to cut out problems.
i had to buy some resistors to go across my LEDs in my ford cause my turn signals on it quite all together. it is just frustrating. if i cann't get some of these problems knocked out i will be paying the dealership as much to fix it as it is worth.

Call your local Honda dealer and have them run a VIN status inquiry on your car. There was an ignition interlock recall on some 98-99 Accords (bulletin # 03-088), that can some times cause this problem.

The ignition interlock and the shifter interlock are two different circuits.

i did call the dealership-- they have a recal on the ignition but not anything to do with the problem i am having. the one they have a recal about is the key not going in far enough and the car may cut off while driving.

but i need some mroe ideas guys? i would like to spend as lil money with the dealership as possible and get some of these problems knocked on my own so please keep those suggestions rolling in, on what i can check.

the noise seems to come from the power steering pump--i think it still has air in the lines--it seems to have quited down some

update on the shifter problem--i have ordered a new brake switch(the lil switch that tells when the brake pedal is depressed)

also on the light problem:
i believe it is the multiplexor switch, fits the description to a T. i found a service bulleten where there alot of honda's that have this problem. there was a long list of honda products. so it is true that no dimmer relay exists within the car
i called them they say i first have to have the car diagnosted and then if the repair is too much i can request good-will assistance through them since my car supposidly doesn't fit in the vin stuff--but they will be paying for it--i will cause too much of scene and it there service bullitin says all 99 accords- and there service bulliton says it is cost free.

LMAO, I love watching people try that attitude with my service manager. LOL, they go out the door with nothing.

i would agree with that statement in most situations but i have too much backing myself on this one. i tend to not pick bigger fights than i can handle but this one specifically states an address and says to contact honda if not satisfied with the service or management.
this is a new one for me and honda service managers, i always had the GM service managers doing extra cause my dad is a GM exec. and he just who to write to that would do something about it.
the next import i will own will have a warrenty and i will know to do research on the add-on and there problems ahead of time
