UTI HOT ROD picks up a 97 ITR.
I am a graduated UTI HOT ROD U student from Chicago and recently the school picked up a 97 ITR.. This ITR is in prefect condition only showing a tick over 30k miles and totally stock. Only sad part is on the dyno it put down 160whp.. I know they should be putting down slightly more then this.. Also the school added graphics down the sides that say "UTI HOT ROD U". Just had to let everyone know that even the most domestic of car schools has started going to imports...

I will try to post some pictures before I finish moving home to VA.. IF anyone from Chicago has a digital cam, and wants to see the car I can arrange that..

I graduated the NC campus, we didnt have Hot Rod, but had NASCAR classes. Much more in depth than the Hot Rod from what I have heard. The arizona campus has Hot Rod U, and some of my friends from my Orlando school have told me that they had DSMs, and a Civic, and a couple other vehciles. They bascially build an engine ( 350 ci SBC ) for a T-bucket street rod kit car, and dyno it with different cams, Nitrous, intakes, carbs, etc etc.
I am guessing the poor 97' ITR will be taking a beating from many different kids on the dyno
similar to what the Ecilpse, and Civic are doing.
WANTED97ITR, are you going to another school, I know that Audi is in Chitown, and I think a couple more, VW is near by, along with Volvo if I remember correctly.
I just graduated the Jaguar campus and am moving soon.
My freind just graduated the Audi graduate program and said that it wasnt too fun

The school will most likely have the students do that, or that in addition to small bolt-ons to see what kind of whp difference they make on the dyno.

I am actually heading off to work for HONDA!!! Yeah BUDDY.. SO far the ITR is sporting small bolt ons IE. intake, header, and exhuast.. They are planning a turbo kit from what they are saying.. Most likely a Drag or Inline Pro kit. I can personal vote for the Inline Pro turbo kit becuase my parents house is only 20 miles away from their shop and have seen the kit. Also the car is reported to be appearing in a Import Mag. very soon as to influence people to come to the school. We do have other crs such as a Civic Ex with a Zex 50 shot and full bolt ons, GST with bolt ons, a 02 Mustang GT with a Vortech supercharger, 95 Z28 with a Paxton blower, 02 Trans AM WS6 with a 100 shot, a few other muscle cars. thats for the STREET Legal classes.. Also its true that the Real Hot Rod classes are Chevy 350s and we do blowers, heads, cams, carbs and so on. That all goes into a T-bucket.. Mostly the school cars are ragged out and beat up..
Trying to get pictures of the ITR as soon as possible..

he's referring to the whp if you weren't aware.
you'll see a loss of approximately 15% through transmission, axles, tires, etc.
--> 0.85*195hp = 165.75whp
